Alvarez Kings is an English indie pop band from South Yorkshire, England that is currently signed to Sire Records, an imprint of Warner Bros. Records. The band released its major label debut, Somewhere Between, in April 2017.

History

Alvarez Kings began forming in Sheffield, South Yorkshire around 2011 with brothers Simon and Paul Thompson making up the core duo. Richard Walker and Aidan Thompson would join the band later due to the departures of two original band members. The band began playing in its current form in 2013. [1] [2] In that year, it travelled on the Vans Warped Tour [3] and was profiled for the second season of the Fuse TV series, Warped Roadies . [4] [5] BBC Radio Sheffield named the band's song, "No Resolve," the "Single of the Year." [2]

In 2015, Alvarez Kings signed to Sire Records, an imprint of Warner Bros. Records. It released its first EP with the label, Fear to Feel, in June 2015. That year, the band also toured with and opened for Echosmith and joined the Warped Tour again. [6] In April 2016, Alvarez Kings went on a short UK tour with PVRIS and K. Flay. [7] [8] [9] The band also opened for Melanie Martinez on her Cry Baby Tour throughout North America and Europe in 2016. [10] [11]

Preceded by the introductory focus track "Sleepwalking Pt.II" their debut album, Somewhere Between (Sire Records/Warner Bros. Records), was released June 2017, produced by the Grammy Award winning producer, Carlos de la Garza. The album went on to cement the band as a serious contender for their unique brand of indie-pop gems and a growing army of dedicated fans around the world.[ citation needed ] The album was backed up with headline tours in the US, Europe and the UK. Upon Sean Parkin's departure, the band later asked record producer Aidan Thompson to join the band after his work on their single "Get up and Move On".

It debuted at number 15 on the charts, selling 51,000 copies in its first week. It was Rancid's highest debut at the time, which was surpassed six years later with their 2009 album, Let the Dominoes Fall. Indestructible marks the last recording by drummer Brett Reed, who left the band in 2006 and was replaced by current drummer Branden Steineckert. Additionally, it is the only album that features songwriting contributions from Reed.

The Glass Passenger is the second studio album by American rock band Jack's Mannequin. Frontman Andrew McMahon was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in mid-2005 following the recording of their debut album Everything in Transit. While touring, McMahon suffered from writer's block, which did not dissipate until mid-2006; many of the songs that would appear on The Glass Passenger were written mid-to-late 2007. Further writing sessions were held when a number of the dates were cancelled due to McMahon suffering from exhaustion and fatigue. The Glass Passenger was produced by McMahon and Jim Wirt and co-produced by CJ Eiriksson; the tracking marked the first time McMahon worked with the band in the studio.

Originally formed as a quartet of siblings, the band currently consists of Sydney, Noah, and Graham Sierota, following the departure of eldest sibling Jamie in 2016. Echosmith started first as "Ready Set Go!" until they signed to Warner Bros. Records in May 2012. They are best known for the song "Cool Kids", which reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA with over 1,200,000 sales in the United States and also double platinum by ARIA in Australia. <i>Somewhere Somehow</i> (album) 2013 studio album by We the Kings

Somewhere Somehow is the fourth studio album by American rock band We the Kings. It is the first album without bassist Drew Thomsen, who was replaced by Charles Trippy. Keyboardist Coley O'Toole was also added into the lineup. After parting ways with S-Curve Records, the group released the single "Just Keep Breathing" in April 2013. Over the next couple of months, the band released "Find You There" and "Any Other Way" as singles before going on the Summer Fest tour. In late September, the band started a campaign to crowd-fund their next album; it eventually received over $149,000 from 2,309 people. The band recorded in Los Angeles, California, working with Blake Healy, Steve Shebby and David Immerman, all of whom co-wrote and produced songs on the album.

White Noise is the debut studio album by American rock band Pvris. Pvris formed as a five-piece metalcore band in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2012. Following the band becoming a four-piece of vocalist/guitarist Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, guitarist Alex Babinski, bassist Brian MacDonald and drummer Brad Griffin, the group's sound changed. Bringing pop and electronic elements into their music, the band released a self-titled EP. After winning a contest, the band played a week on Warped Tour; following this, Griffin left the band. The group signed with Rise and Velocity Records in June 2014. White Noise was recorded with producer Blake Harnage. Harnage would help co-write several songs on the album with Gunnulfsen; Sierra Kusterbeck helped co-write a few songs with Harnage and Gunnulfsen.
