Amori is a 2019 Konkani drama film based on water conservation and a nexus between politicians and builders. [1] The film is directed by Dinesh P. Bhonsle, written by R M Vardhan, and produced by Opus Gala. Schubert Cotta has composed the music. [2] It stars Salil Naik, Sobita Kudtarkar, Mayur Mayekar, Prashanti Talpankar, Tanmay Kharpe, and Shaina Mirashi. [2] In 2019, the film bagged the Best Konkani Film award in the feature film category, at 66th National Film Awards. [3]

The film revolves around the issue of environment and water conservation and shows how people struggle to work for the betterment of society. [2]

Production

Filming

The shooting of the film commenced in Goa and went on for two and a half years. The entire film was shot in different parts of Goa. [4]

Screening

The premiere of the film was held in Inox Margao, a theater based in Goa, India, where Minister for Power Nilesh Cabral was invited as chief guest, Fr Jose Costa as guest of honor, and Digambar Kamat, Leader of Opposition, as special guest. [5] The film was screened in various territories of the state of Goa including Panaji, Margao, Bicholim, Valpoi, Vasco da Gama, Cuncolim, and Curchorem. [2]

The Government of Goa allowed schools and colleges to take their students to watch the film so as to raise awareness on environmental issues among the students. [6] [7]

In 2019 Amori was screened for students of schools and colleges in Goa. [5]

Aleesha is a Konkani film released in 2004 in Goa, India. It was directed by Rajendra Talak and featured Priyanka Bidaye and Rajeev Hede in the lead roles.

The Konkani language agitations were a series of protests and demonstrations in India, concerning the uncertain future and the official status of the Konkani language. They were held by Goans in the then union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu governed at the time by the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. The protests involved citizen journalism, student activism and political demonstrations.

Tum Kitem Kortolo Aslo? is a 2010 Indian Konkani language film written and directed by Sharon Mazarello. The film also features Mazarello in the lead role. The story is about infidelity, from the perspective of the woman. It was produced by Mazarello and her husband, Wilmix Mazarello, under the banner of ShaMaz Films. The film premiered at the Cinescope Metro in Kuwait on 22 October 2010, marking the 60th anniversary of the release of Mogacho Anvddo, the first Konkani film. With this film, Mazarello became the first woman to direct a Konkani movie.

<i>Kantaar</i> 2019 Indian film in Konkani

Kantaar (transl. Song) is a 2019 Indian Konkani-language film written and directed by Nilesh Malkar and produced by Janet Noronha. It stars Jackie Shroff, Noel Sean and Ester Noronha. The film is about life in Goa, and finding purpose in life. After the award-winning Soul Curry, it is Malkar and Jackie's second Konkani film. The musical film features Lorna singing some jazz songs. It premiered at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, on 28 January 2019.
