Anders Magnus (born 10 April 1952) is a Norwegian journalist, author and television reporter.
Magnus was born in Oslo and took the cand.mag. degree in 1976. He was hired in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) in 1978, and after tenures in Bergens Tidende from 1982 to 1992 and TV 2 from 1992 to 1998 he returned to NRK in 1998. [1] He served as the NRK correspondent covering all of Africa from 1998 to 2002, [1] and later as correspondent covering Asia from 2010 to 2014. [2] [3]
He has authored several books, including Min afrikanske reise (My African journey; 2004) about his time in Africa. [1]
NRK is the Norwegian government-owned radio and television public broadcasting company, and the largest media organisation in Norway. All other TV channels, broadcast from Norway, were banned from 1960 until 1981. NRK broadcasts three national TV channels and three national radio channels on digital terrestrial television, digital terrestrial radio and subscription television. All NRK radio stations are being streamed online at NRK.no, which also offers an extensive TV service. NRK is a founding member of the European Broadcasting Union.

Norway participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Icebreaker" written by Agnete Johnsen, Gabriel Alares and Ian Curnow. The song was performed by Agnete. The Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) organised the national final Melodi Grand Prix 2016 in order to select the Norwegian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Ten entries competed in a show that took place on 27 February 2016 and the winner was determined over two rounds of public televoting. The top four entries in the first round of voting advanced to the competition's second round—the Gold Final. In the second round of public televoting, "Icebreaker" performed by Agnete was selected as the winner with 166,728 votes.
