Andrine Benjaminsen (born 23 August 1995) is a Norwegian orienteer and ski orienteer. [1]
Her acievements in ski orienteering include winning two bronze medals in the Junior World Championships. In foot orienteering, she has won medals at the World Orienteering Championships and the European Orienteering Championships, both in the individual competitions, and with relay teams for Norway.
As a junior, Benjaminsen excelled in ski orienteering, and she won a bronze medal at the 2013 and 2015 Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships. [2]
In foot orienteering, Benjaminsen represented Norway at the 2017 World Orienteering Championships in Tartu, Estonia, where her best result was ninth place in the long distance. [3] At the 2021 European Orienteering Championships she won a bronze medal in the Knock-out sprint, [4] and a bronze medal in the Sprint relay with the Norwegian team. [5]
At the 2021 World Orienteering Championships in the Czech Republic, she placed 10th in the sprint. [6] She won a silver medal in the mixed sprint relay with the Norwegian team, after a close fight with Swiss Elena Roos on the last leg. [7] She also won a silver medal in the middle distance, behind winner Tove Alexandersson, [8] and a bronze medal in the relay with the Norwegian team, along with Kamilla Steiwer and Marie Olaussen. [9]
In 2022, Benjaminsen won a bronze medal in the mixed sprint relay at the 2022 World Orienteering Championships. [10] She also placed fourth in the sprint at the same championships. [11] At the 2022 European Orienteering Championships, she won a bronze medal in the relay with the Norwegian team. [12]
She won a bronze medal in the long distance at the 2023 World Orienteering Championships. [13] She also won a bronze medal in the relay with the Norwegian team, [14] and placed fifth in the middle distance. [15]
Benjaminsen's parents are Finnish orienteer Anne Benjaminsen and Norwegian orienteer Vidar Benjaminsen. [16] Figure skater Juni Marie Benjaminsen is her sister. [17]
Hilde Gjermundshaug Pedersen is a Norwegian cross-country skier. Her first Olympic medal was a silver 4 × 5 km relay at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, she took the bronze medal in the 10 km classical interval start event. Pedersen is the oldest woman ever to win a cross country skiing World Cup race, which she did at age 41 in January 2006 in Otepää, Estonia.
The Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) are an annual orienteering competition. They were first held in 1990. Entry is open to national teams aged 20 and below as of 31 December in the year of competition. Representative countries must be members of the International Orienteering Federation (IOF).
Anne Margrethe Hausken Nordberg is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, World champion and European champion. She took the overall victory in the 2008 World Cup.
Marianne Andersen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor. She has won twelve individual medals in the world and European championships, as well as winning nine national championships. In 2017 she won a silver medal in the middle distance after seven years without a medal.
Virpi Juutilainen is a Finnish ski-orienteering competitor and world champion.
Martin Johansson is a Swedish orienteering, ski-orienteering, and cross-country skiing competitor, a medallist at the orienteering world championships, and a 2004 Junior World Champion in relay. He received bronze medals in sprint at the World Orienteering Championships in Kyiv 2007 and Olomouc 2008. His brother, Lars, is a member of the Rockford Icehogs
Lars Lystad is a Norwegian ski-orienteering competitor and world champion. He won a gold medal in the relay event at the World Ski Orienteering Championships in Batak in 1986, together with Sigurd Dæhli, Audun Knutsen and Vidar Benjaminsen, and again in Val di Non in 1994, with Kjetil Ulven, Harald Svergja and Vidar Benjaminsen. He received a silver medal in the long distance in 1994.

Tove Alexandersson is a Swedish foot orienteer, ski orienteer, skyrunner, trail runner and ski mountaineer. She has won a total of 19 gold medals at the World Orienteering Championships and 10 gold medals at the World Ski Orienteering Championships. In 2018, she won the Sky Marathon event at the Skyrunning World Championships, in her second skyrunning race ever. In 2021, she won the combined discipline at the World Championships of Ski Mountaineering, and in 2023 she won a silver medal in the up and down discipline at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships. She competes for Stora Tuna OK in orienteering and Alfta-Ösa OK in ski orienteering. Alexandersson holds the record for the number of gold medals in a row at the World Orienteering Championships, winning 11 in a row between 2018 and 2022.

The 2023 Orienteering World Cup is the 28th edition of the Orienteering World Cup. The 2023 Orienteering World Cup consists of seven individual events and three relay events. The events are located in Norway, the Czech Republic, and Italy. The 2023 World Orienteering Championships in Switzerland are not included in the World Cup, but the European Orienteering Championships in Italy are part of the World Cup program. Non-European Orienteers can hence participate in the European Championships as well. Russian and Belarusian competitors are still banned, but this season saw Natalia Gemperle returning to the world cup, now competing for Switzerland.
