Apache Pizza is a chain of fast food pizza delivery restaurants in Ireland. Founded in 1996 by Robert Pendleton and his wife Emily Gore Grimes, Apache is the trading name of The Good Food Company. [2] [3] As of 2023, it has approximately 180 restaurants throughout the island of Ireland. Apache is Ireland's largest pizza chain. Its Managing Director is Martin Lyons. [4] [3]

In 2015, Apache signed an agreement with Marvin.ie, an online fast food order service similar to Just Eat. [4] [5] [6] As of 2012, the company employs over 800 people and manufactures more than 160,000 pizza dough balls per month. [3]

In March 2018, Spanish restaurant chain Telepizza announced a joint venture with Irish Burger King franchise arm OKR to purchase a majority share of the company. [7]

Awards

In 2014, Fox News listed Apache as one of the best pizza chains in the world. [8] Just Eat named Apache as Ireland's best takeaway in 2015. [9]

A spice bag is a fast food dish, popular in most of Ireland and inspired by Chinese cuisine. The dish is most commonly sold in Chinese takeaways in Ireland. Typically, a spice bag consists of deep-fried salt and chilli chips, salt and chilli chicken, red and green peppers, sliced chili peppers, fried onions, jalapenos and a variety of spices. A vegetarian or vegan option is often available, in which deep fried tofu takes the place of the shredded chicken. It is sometimes accompanied by a tub of curry sauce.

The presence of pizza restaurant chains has contributed to a significant increase in pizza consumption in Mainland China and Hong Kong. This also had an effect of introducing cheese as a culinary ingredient and everyday food in China, which was relatively uncommon in Chinese cuisine prior to the emergence of pizza chains. Pizza Hut opened its first store in China in 1990, and several pizza restaurant chains exist in China today.

Boojum is an Irish chain of Mexican fast-food restaurants in Ireland. Founded in 2007 by John and Karen Blisard, they operate 17 outlets throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, as well as a "Turbo Boojum" outlet in Dublin.
