Nicholas McCarrell (born April 6, 1982), professionally known as Aqua, is an American record producer and composer of film and television scores. As a record producer, he has most notably worked with Roc-a-fella Records artists Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Beanie Sigel. [1] His scoring credits include Entourage [2] and George Lopez .

Early career

Aqua began his music career as an intern at MTV News until August 2001. He began distributing copies of his demo in January 2002 after moving back to Los Angeles, generating a buzz within the Roc-A-Fella camp. This buzz began Aqua's relationship with Jay-Z, producing "My 1st Song" off of Jay's Black Album. [1]

Television credits

George Lopez

Nicholas became the sole composer of George Lopez in 2002. He scored every episode from 2002-2007 that aired on ABC, entering syndication one month after the series finale. On March 8, 2007, it was announced that George Lopez would join the Nick at Nite lineup. To this date, it continues to be their highest rated series and one of cable's best for an off-network sitcom. The show currently airs in broadcast syndication on The CW Plus and on Telelatino in Canada.

Its release was set a week earlier than initially planned in order to combat bootlegging. Memphis Bleek American rapper and hype man from New York

Malik Deshawn Cox, better known by his stage name Memphis Bleek, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record executive, perhaps best known being the hype man for hip hop luminary and fellow New York rapper Jay-Z. Cox has started his own labels: Get Low Records in 1998, and Warehouse Music Group in 2016. "In My Lifetime" is the debut single by Jay-Z. It is produced by Ski and contains samples from "Oh Baby" by Aretha Franklin and two Soul II Soul songs: "Back to Life " and "Get a Life". The original version of the single was sold by Jay-Z and his friend Damon Dash out of Dash's car in 1993. It was released by Payday Records, but Jay-Z had royalty conflicts with his label and soon decided to start Roc-A-Fella Records to release his material. "Gotta Have It" is a song by American hip hop artists Kanye West and Jay-Z from their first collaborative album Watch the Throne (2011). The song was produced by West and The Neptunes, and samples three original compositions by James Brown: "Don't Tell a Lie About Me and I Won't Tell the Truth About You", "People Get Up and Drive Your Funky Soul" and "My Thang". The song explores themes of wealth, decadence and the economic stature in the US. The song received positive reviews from critics who complimented the production and the clever wordplay of the two rappers.
