Audri Mukhopadhyay (born 1974) is a Canadian diplomat and economist. He was the Consul General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, [2] [3] serving as head of mission at the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City. He has been featured in a number of Vietnamese publications promoting Canada-Vietnam bilateral ties, [4] [5] and In 2010, he was named one of Progress magazine's "People we love." [6] He also filmed a television series for Ho Chi Minh City Television that began airing in Fall 2010. The series is part of an English language teaching programme aiming to promote Canadian culture in Vietnam. Promoting education linkages was a large part of his work in Vietnam. [7]

Mukhopadhyay joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 2005. From 2002 to 2003, he was the Canadian government's representative to ICANN. He has also worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and as an economist with the Canadian Department of Finance. [8]

Mukhopadhyay is a Canadian of Indian descent. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island (USA), and grew up in Halifax (former city), Nova Scotia. He studied economics at Dalhousie University in Canada, then as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where he earned an MBA and an MPhil in economics. [9]

He is affiliated with Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C., where he is a Global Fellow at the Canada Institute.

Ton Duc Thang University is a public university with the main campus in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Established on September 24, 1997, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) has been one of the top research universities in Vietnam. It is under the management of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and is named after Tôn Đức Thắng, who was Vice-President of Vietnam from 1960 to 1969 under the presidency of Ho Chi Minh and later became President of Vietnam from 1969 to 1980. The University offers about 40 undergraduate programs, 18 master programs and 25 doctoral programs in variety of areas such as: law, applied science, technology, vocational skills, social sciences, economics, business, foreign languages, arts. Total enrollment is around 23,500.

The Consulate General of the United States in Ho Chi Minh City is located at 4 Le Duan Stress in District 1. It provides consular services, and it deals with diplomatic affairs in Ho Chi Minh City and the rest of southern Vietnam. Like many foreign diplomatic buildings in the world, the consulate general facility has tight security.

The British International SchoolHo Chi Minh City is an international school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, offering a British style education. The school has three campuses located in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). There is a Primary campus, a Secondary campus, and an Early Years & Infant Campus. They are located in the residential area of District 2. The British International School Ho Chi Minh City was founded in 1997 as Tiny Tots, a Kindergarten. Ho Chi Minh Thought, or Ho Chi Minh Ideology, is a political philosophy that builds upon Marxism–Leninism and the ideology of Ho Chi Minh. It was first formalised by the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1991. Ho Chi Minh Thought is a broad term for political theories and policies that are seen by their proponents as representing Marxism–Leninism adapted to Vietnamese circumstances and specific time periods. The ideology includes views on the basic issues of the Vietnamese Revolution, specifically the application and development of Marxism-Leninism to the material conditions of Vietnam. The contents of Ho Chi Minh Thought was codified and developed by the Communist Party of Vietnam. The Communist Party of Vietnam defines Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought as a guideline for all actions and victories of the Vietnamese revolution. Ho Chi Minh Thought, while named after the Vietnamese revolutionary and President, does not necessarily reflect the ideology of Ho Chi Minh, rather Ho Chi Minh Thought refers to the official ideology of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The British Vietnamese International School Hanoi is a bilingual international school in Hanoi, Vietnam, offering a British-style education in both English and Vietnamese languages for ages 3 to 18.
