There is a community of Australians in India, consisting mostly of expatriates and migrants from Australia, as well as some Australian OCIs . Australia has a High Commission in New Delhi and Consulates in Mumbai and Chennai. [1]

Overview

According to the Australian High Commission, there are about 3,000 to 4,000 Australians living and working in India. [2] Industries such as hospitality, financial services, and mining and materials have a relatively higher concentration of Australian expatriates. About 1,000 Australian companies evince interest in doing projects in India every year, despite the challenges of "bureaucracy" and "delays," as opportunities outnumber these impediments. At present, there are about 60 Australian companies working in the infrastructure sector in India. Large Australian firms such as BHP, Rio Tinto, SMEC Holdings, Macquarie Group, and CIMIC Group have operations in India.

There are also many Australian cricketers wanting to get into the Indian Premier League. [3]

India–Malaysia relations, also called Indian-Malaysian relations or Indo-Malaysian relations, are the bilateral foreign relations between India and Malaysia. India has a high commission in Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia has a high commission in New Delhi and a consulate general in Chennai and Mumbai. Americans in India comprise immigrants from the United States living in India, along with Indian citizens of American descent. They have a history stretching back to the late 18th century.

There is a small Korean community in India, consisting largely of South Korean expatriate professionals and their families, as well as some missionaries and international students at Indian universities.

The French community in India consists mainly of Indian citizens of French ancestry who are descended from former French settlers and colonists who settled in India since the 17th century, as well as recent expatriates from France.

There is a small Japanese community in India which consists mainly of expatriates from Japan or Indian-born people of Japanese ancestry.

There is a small Italian community in India consisting mainly of Indian citizens of Italian heritage as well with expatriates and migrants from Italy who reside in India.

India–Tanzania relations refers to the current and historical relations between India and Tanzania. India has a High Commission in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania has a High Commission in New Delhi, which is also accredited to Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Diplomatic relations are described as close, friendly and cooperative. 15,000 Indians visited Tanzania in 2007. In May 2011, Ex Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh calls for strengthen cooperation with Tanzania. Trade between India and Tanzania amounted to 31 billion dollars in 2009–2010 and India is Tanzania's second-largest investor.

The Consulate General of the United States of America in Chennai represents the interests of the United States government in Chennai, India and surrounding regions. The consulate reports to the ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. The current Consul General, the 27th, is Christopher W. Hodges, incumbent since July 2023. He was preceded by Judith Ravin.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">General Post Office, Chennai</span> Post office building in India

Chennai General Post Office (GPO) is located on Rajaji Salai at Parry's Corner, Chennai. It functions in a building built in 1884. It is located opposite to the Chennai Beach suburban railway station. Chennai GPO covers an area of about 23.33 km2 (9.01 sq mi) and serves a population of around 220,000. It has no sub-branch offices.

The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) is the largest German bi-national Chamber abroad and the largest Chamber of Commerce in India. It acts as primary contact for Indian and German companies who are willing to establish a business in the other country. It works in close cooperation with the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Germany (IHKs) and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK).

The European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC) was constituted in 2008 as a programme co-funded by the European Union. It transitioned to an independent organisation in March 2016, continuing the EU mandate to facilitate Europe-India cross-border collaboration. EBTC as an organisation is coordinated by Eurochambres, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Nanik Rupani</span> Indian Entrepreneur (born 1941)

Nanik Rupani is an Indian Entrepreneur. He is also the Chairman Emeritus of Priyadarshni Academy, an NGO which provides educational scholarships to needy and deserving students. They promote the Indian classical performing arts among the youth.
