A supergroup is a musical performing group whose members have successful solo careers, are members of other groups, or are well known in other musical professions. The term is usually used in the context of rock and pop music, but it has occasionally been applied to other musical genres. For example, The Three Tenors—composed of opera superstars José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and Luciano Pavarotti—or Rainbow have been called a supergroup.
Wolfgang Ambros is an Austrian singer-songwriter, most famously known for setting the then-new trend in the 1970s known now as Austropop. He is most famous for his song "Da Hofa" and "Schifoan".
Georg Franz Danzer was an Austrian singer-songwriter. Although he is credited as one of the pioneers of Austropop, he always refused to be part of this genre.
The group was initiated by Fendrich in order to give one single charity concert in favour of homeless in 1997 (which collected more than ATS2million, almost USD200,000). Their success as a group was overwhelming, and the three individualists showed up on stage as Austria3 from that day on, until they decided to stop that project, which they announced on 10 June 2006. Their last concert was given at Altusried, Germany, on 26 July 2006.
Altusried is a municipality in the district of Oberallgäu in Bavaria in Germany. It is host to the open-air theatre Freilichtspiele Altusried.
However, at Georg Danzer's comeback concert in Vienna on 16 April 2007, the three individuals met again [for just three songs] but even "thought in public" about possibly re-uniting in 2008.[2] and sang a few of their old classics.
Georg Danzer died from lung cancer on 21 June 2007.

The Donauinselfest is a free open-air music festival taking place annually at Donauinsel in Vienna, Austria and it's hosted by SPÖ Wien. With over 3 million visitors in 3 days, it's the biggest open-air music festival in the world.

↑ The group's name is an allusion to the cheap cigarette blend "Austria 3" produced in Austria after World War II and approximately until the end of the 1950s. The blend was infamous for its awful taste, but Austrians in their teens at that time are likely to have had an "Austria3" as their first cigarette.

His song from 1990, "I Am from Austria" is still popular in Austria.
Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (VBW), or United Stages Vienna, is a musical production company based in Vienna, Austria which produced several own musicals that were very successful.
Rosenstolz was a German pop duo from Berlin that was active between 1991 and 2012 and had chart hits in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The duo consisted of singer AnNa R. and musician Peter Plate, who occasionally provided vocals. Rosenstolz achieved major chart success after the nineties, with five studio albums going to No. 1 in the German albums chart. Ireen Sheer is a German-British pop singer. She had a top five hit on the German singles chart with "Goodbye Mama" in 1973. The group consists of brothers Martin Brugger and Andreas Brugger and their older cousin, Mannfred Höllwarth. Founded in 1993, the trio is widely considered Austria's number-one folk music group; in 2001, the group won the Austria Music Award - Amadeus in recognition of its status. On March 12, 2011 they performed "Grande Canale" as Musikantenstadl celebrated their 30-year anniversary of being on TV.
