BWT, registered name BWT AG, is an Austrian manufacturing company of water treatment systems with its headquarters in Mondsee.
The company has four main production sites at Mondsee (Austria), Schriesheim (Germany), Paris (France), and Aesch (Switzerland), as well as numerous subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and a global distribution network. [2]
BWT was founded as Benckiser Wassertechnik in 1823 by Johann Adam Benckiser in Germany. Following several acquisitions and mergers, the company was purchased in 1990 by Andreas Weißenbacher in a management buyout. The company was floated on the Vienna Stock Exchange in 1992.
The WAB Group is the principal shareholder of BWT, with around 20% of shares owned by diverse shareholders and roughly 6% owned by the company (as of February 2014). [2]

The company's filter cartridge for table water received the National Award for Innovation for Upper Austria in 2011. [3] The same year, the Rondomat Duo S series of water softeners won the Austrian national design prize [4] in the Capital Goods category awarded by the Federal Ministry of the Economy Family and Youth (German: Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft, Familie und Jugend).
BWT’s products for private households have been winners of the Plus X Award on two occasions. In 2012, the AQA perla [5] water softening system was voted "Best Product of the Year 2013", and the E1 Single Lever filter [6] received the same accolade in 2013.
In 2014, the "black penguin" BWT table water filter won the Red Dot Design Award.
BWT has a wide range of sponsorship deals with various motorsport teams, such as Mücke Motorsport in DTM, Forze Hydrogen Electric Racing (a student racing team from the Delft University of Technology making hydrogen-powered race cars), ADAC GT Masters, Formula 4, and Walter Lechner Racing in the high-profile Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and Porsche Supercup.
Most notably, in Formula One, the company was the title sponsor of the Racing Point F1 Team (previously Racing Point Force India and Force India Formula One) from 2017 through 2020 as the BWT Racing Point F1 Team, up until its rebranding as the Aston Martin F1 Team for the 2021 season. [7] [8] The F1 sponsorship was continued with the new Aston Martin team for 2021, with BWT assuming the role of a "Global Partner". [9] In 2021, Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team driver Sebastian Vettel signed on to become a BWT Ambassador.
In 2022, Alpine F1 Team signed a title sponsorship contract with BWT, with the team renamed as the BWT Alpine F1 Team. [10] In 2023, BWT's deal with Alpine was extended to the Alpine Academy's young driver lineup. [11] [12]

A driver development program is a system or structure designed for young kart and race car drivers to learn and perfect their racing skills. These programmes are devised by racing teams, external companies and funded partnerships primarily to attract and develop future racing talent. Most programmes now employ a wide range of skilled coaches and technologies to train all of the physical and psychological abilities inherent in driving at the limit and winning races. Most racing teams will sign a driver to a multi-year contract in which they fund or part fund the driver in junior formulas and gradually help them succeed to the highest levels of motorsport. Some teams have been criticized for unfair long-term and low-paying contracts for the talented drivers they find whilst also charging the less talented drivers very high fees for the use of their simulations and facilities. Companies that specialise in racing driver training or development programmes remain commercially viable through selling time in their simulators or gyms and generally speaking do not fund a drivers career. Funded partnerships, good driver management companies and driver search and development initiatives will fund or part fund a drivers development and will survive as long as the owners financial commitment and or success at recouping their investment. Be that a return from a talented drivers wages or a promotional exercise designed by a brand or corporation.

Formula One sponsorship liveries have been used since the 1968 season, replacing national colours. Major sponsors such as BP, Shell, and Firestone had pulled out of the sport ahead of the season, prompting the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile to allow unrestricted sponsorship. At the 1968 South African Grand Prix, South African privateer team Team Gunston became the first Formula One team to implement sponsorship brands as a livery when they entered a private Brabham car painted in the colours of Gunston cigarettes for John Love. In the next race, the 1968 Spanish Grand Prix, Team Lotus became the first works team to follow this example, with Graham Hill's Lotus 49B entered in the red, gold and white colors of Imperial Tobacco's Gold Leaf brand. With rising costs in Formula One, sponsors becoming more important and thus liveries reflected the teams' sponsors.

The 2018 ADAC Formula 4 Championship was the fourth season of the ADAC Formula 4, an open-wheel motor racing series. It was a multi-event motor racing championship that featured drivers competing in 1.4 litre Tatuus-Abarth single seat race cars that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship. It began on 14 April at Oschersleben and finished on 23 September at Hockenheim after seven triple header rounds.

AMR GP, officially AMR GP Limited is a British company that owns and operates the Aston Martin F1 Team, a Formula One racing team based in Silverstone, England. The company was established in August 2018 to buy the Formula One racing assets of the financially stricken Force India Formula One Team. Following its acquisition of the team assets just before the 2018 Belgian Grand Prix, it competed in that race, and for the rest of the 2018 season, as the Racing Point Force India Formula One Team, continuing to use the constructor's title of Force India.
