The Bangladesh Labour Federation (BLF) is a national trade union federation in Bangladesh. It is internationally affiliated with the International Trade Union Confederation. [2]

Delwar Hossain Sayeedi is an Islamic politician in Bangladesh who has served as a Member of the it's parliament from 1996 to 2008. The International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh sentenced him to death in February 2013 for crimes against humanity in the war of 1971. His crimes included genocide, mass murder, rape of Hindus and arson of their properties. The tribunal received support within Bangladesh, but was criticized by many international observers. In September 2014 the Supreme Court commuted his sentence to life imprisonment.

The Bangladesh Trade Union Centre (BTUC) is a national trade union federation in Bangladesh. It is affiliated internationally with the World Federation of Trade Unions.

Razakar was an East Pakistani paramilitary force organised by General Tikka Khan in then East Pakistan, now called Bangladesh, during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. Since the 1971 war, it has become a pejorative term in Bangladesh due to the numerous atrocities committed by the Razakars during the War. The Razakar force was composed of mostly anti-Bangladesh and pro-Pakistan Bengalis and Urdu-speaking migrants who lived in Bangladesh at the time.

Mohammad Toaha was a language activist of the 1952 language movement and a prominent left-wing politician from Bangladesh.

Builders Labourers Federation

The Builders Labourers Federation (BLF) was an Australian trade union that existed from 1911 until 1972, and from 1976 until 1986, when it was permanently deregistered in various Australian states by the federal Hawke Labor government and some state governments of the time. This occurred in the wake of a Royal Commission into corruption by the union. About the same time, BLF federal secretary Norm Gallagher was jailed for corrupt dealings after receiving bribes from building companies that he used to build a beach house.

International Crimes Tribunal (Bangladesh)

The International Crimes Tribunal (Bangladesh) is a domestic war crimes tribunal in Bangladesh set up in 2009 to investigate and prosecute suspects for the genocide committed in 1971 by the Pakistan Army and their local collaborators, Razakars, Al-Badr and Al-Shams during the Bangladesh Liberation War. During the 2008 general election, the Awami League (AL) pledged to try war criminals. The government set up the tribunal after the Awami League won the general election in December 2008 with a more than two-thirds majority in parliament.

The first Khaleda cabinet was the Government of Bangladesh during the 5th legislative session of the Jatiya Sangsad following the 1991 Bangladeshi general election. The cabinet took office in 1991 and left office in January 1996. The Prime Minister and head of the government was Khaleda Zia.

The National Coordination Committee for Workers' Education (NCCWE) is a national trade union centre in Bangladesh. The centre unites 14 national trade union federations. It is affiliated with the International Trade Union Confederation, the World Federation of Trade Unions and the International Transport Workers Federation. It is also supported by the International Labour Organization.

The Bangladesh Garments Workers Unity Council (BGWUC) is a national trade union centre in Bangladesh. The centre unites 21 garment worker trade union federations.
