Donald Eugene "D. J." Shockley is an American sports anchor and former football player who was a quarterback. He was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL draft and served as a backup quarterback for four and a half years, but never played in a regular season or postseason game. He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs.
Jared Zabransky is an American former professional football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). The 2006 Hawaii Warriors football team represented the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Warriors tied the school record for most victories in a season with 11, with their only losses coming against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, an undefeated Boise State team that went on to participate in the Bowl Championship Series and Oregon State, which won ten games and finished the season nationally ranked. The Warriors finished in second place in the Western Athletic Conference behind Boise State and returned to the Hawaii Bowl after missing out on postseason play in 2005 due to a losing record. The Warriors defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils in the bowl game by a score of 41–24 to round out one of the school's most successful football seasons ever.
Daniel Edward Langsdorf is an American football coach and former player who is currently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Temple Owls. He was previously the offensive coordinator for the Oregon State Beavers and for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, as well formerly the quarterbacks coach for the University of Colorado.
The 2007 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl was a college football bowl game played as part of the 2006–2007 Bowl Championship Series (BCS) of the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The game was played on January 1, 2007, at its new venue, the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The matchup pitted the Big 12 champion No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners against the WAC champion No. 9 Boise State Broncos. The contest was televised on Fox. With this broadcast, the Fiesta Bowl became the first bowl game to air on all the "big four" television networks ; the Orange Bowl became the second the following night.

Ryan Dinwiddie is the head coach of the Toronto Argonauts and is a former professional Canadian football quarterback. After playing college football at Boise State University, he went undrafted and signed with the Chicago Bears, however he was cut from their training camp. Dinwiddie later went on to play professionally for the Hamburg Sea Devils of NFL Europe, and also played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
The 2007 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl was a post-season college football bowl game between the Boise State University Broncos from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and the East Carolina University Pirates from Conference USA (C-USA). This sixth edition of the Hawaii Bowl, sponsored by Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, was played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on December 23, 2007. The game was the final competition of the 2007 football season for each team and resulted in a 41–38 East Carolina victory, even though sportsbooks favored Boise State to win by 10+1⁄2 points. Many experts believed East Carolina to be big underdogs to Boise State, which had defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl. The 2007 Hawaiʻi Bowl paid $750,000 to each team's conference in exchange for their participation.

Kellen Christopher Moore is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Boise State Broncos, where he set the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) record for quarterback wins. Moore spent the majority of his professional career from 2012 to 2017 as a backup, only seeing playing time with the Dallas Cowboys in 2015. After retiring as a player, Moore began a coaching career and became the Eagles' offensive coordinator in 2024.

The 2018 Boston College Eagles football team represented Boston College during the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Eagles played their home games at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and competed in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They were led by sixth-year head coach Steve Addazio. They finished the season 7–5 overall and 4–4 in ACC play to place the fourth in the Atlantic Division. They were invited to the First Responder Bowl against Boise State. With 5:08 left in the first quarter and Boston College leading 7–0, the bowl game was stopped because of bad weather and ultimately canceled and ruled a no contest.
Khalil Shakir is an American football wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Boise State and was selected by the Bills in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Grant Joseph Hedrick is a former American football player. He played quarterback at Boise State University from 2010 to 2014 where he helped them win the 2014 Fiesta Bowl (December) and graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Hedrick had a brief stint with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2015. Prior to his collegiate and professional football career, Hedrick attended Central High School where he was an all-state football, basketball, and track athlete.
