Barys Arena (Kazakh : Barys Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Astana, Kazakhstan. [1] It serves as a home arena for Barys Astana in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The arena seats 11,578 spectators for ice hockey. [2]

Hockey Club Barys, also referred to as Barys Astana or HC Barys, is a professional ice hockey team based in Astana, Kazakhstan. It is one of the founding members of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). They play in the league's Chernyshev Division of the Eastern Conference. Their home arena is the Barys Arena, where they have played since the 2015–16 KHL season. Prior to 2015, the team played home games at the Kazakhstan Sports Palace for 14 seasons, beginning in 2001. The head coach is Andrei Skabelka and the president is Boris Ivanishchev. The team serves as a base club for the Kazakhstan national ice hockey team.

Anton Kazantsev is a Kazakhstani professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Yermak Angarsk of the Supreme Hockey League (VHL). Kazantsev previously played for Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Andrei Vladimirovich Spiridonov is a Kazakhstani professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with the HK Almaty of the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship.

Nomad Hockey Club, commonly referred to as Nomad Astana, is a farm team of the Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Founded in 2007 as Barys Astana–2, the team changed its name to Nomad Astana in 2013. Formerly a member of the Supreme Hockey League, Nomad currently play in the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship.

Alexander Anatolyevich Vysotsky is a former Kazakhstani professional ice hockey player, who played for Kazakhstan National Hockey Team. Vysotsky is the graduate of Karagandy ice hockey school. He is the former head coach of Barys Astana and HC Almaty.

The Kazakhstan Sports Palace is a palace of sports in Astana, Kazakhstan. It is the home of Nomad Astana and HC Astana of the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship, and Snezhnye Barsy junior hockey team of the Junior Hockey League. It seats 4,070 spectators for ice hockey.

The 2013–14 Barys Astana season was the Kontinental Hockey League franchise's 6th season of play and 15th season overall. Barys posted a regular season record of 26 wins, 18 losses, 6 overtime/shootout wins and 4 overtime/shootout losses for 94 points. As a result, Barys won Chernyshev Division and finished 2nd in the Eastern Conference. The team qualified to playoffs a ten games before the end of the regular season on January 16, 2014. Barys ended the 2013–14 regular season as the Eastern Conference's second seed. In the first round of the 2014 Gagarin Cup playoffs, Barys defeated Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg 4-0 in series. Barys lost to Salavat Yulaev Ufa in semifinals 2-4 in series.

Yuri Vladimirovich Mikhailis is a retired Kazakhstani professional ice hockey player and ice hockey coach. He is currently the head coach of Nomad Astana of the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship. His son, Nikita Mikhailis, plays for Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League.

Nikita Yurevich Mikhailis is a Kazakhstani professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Mikhailis began playing professionally at the age of 16 with the Nomad Astana of the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship. He played one season with Nomad, during which time he was selected 121st overall by the Barys in the 2012 KHL Junior Draft. In 2012, he began playing major junior hockey with the Barys' junior league affiliate Snezhnye Barsy of the Junior Hockey League (MHL) for three seasons. In 2014–15, he began playing for Barys and register 4 points in the regular season.

Kirill Vladimirovich Polokhov is a Kazakh professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
