The Bayraktar Mini UAV is a miniature UAV produced by the Turkish company Baykar. [1] [2]
System design activities started in 2004 with the concept of short range day and night aerial reconnaissance and surveillance applications. The initial prototype, Bayraktar A, was developed in 2005, and following successful autonomous flight demonstrations, Baykar received a contract to begin serial production. The first batch of the order by the Turkish Armed Forces was composed of 19 aircraft which were mainly deployed to the southeast parts of Turkey to be used in counterterrorism operations. [3] After hundreds of hours flight trials and feedback, the system was subjected to major modifications and a superior version began development. The Bayraktar B Mini UAV System was completed and became operational in December 2007 to be operated by the Turkish Armed Forces. [4] [5] Due to its success in the region, the system was also awarded with an export deal to the Qatar Armed Forces in 2012. [6] [7] The development of the aircraft is being continued. According to the company, the most recent version, the Bayraktar MINI UAV D, has 2 times greater communication range and 3 times higher maximum altitude compared to its predecessors. [8] [9]
Bayraktar B is a hand-launched, portable UAV system, designed to operate under harsh geographic and meteorological conditions. [10] [11] Bayraktar B is fielded with small army units, and as of 2021 have recorded more than 100,000 flight hours. [12] System offers a complete autonomy with protective features with a high rank of reliability and easiness for the operators, which makes it a valuable technological asset.[ citation needed ]

An unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), also known as a combat drone, colloquially shortened as drone or battlefield UAV, is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is used for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance and carries aircraft ordnance such as missiles, ATGMs, and/or bombs in hardpoints for drone strikes. These drones are usually under real-time human control, with varying levels of autonomy. Unlike unmanned surveillance and reconnaissance aerial vehicles, UCAVs are used for both drone strikes and battlefield intelligence.

The IAI Heron (Machatz-1) is a medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by the Malat (UAV) division of Israel Aerospace Industries. It is capable of Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) operations of up to 52 hours' duration at up to 10.5 km (35,000 ft). It has demonstrated 52 hours of continuous flight, but the effective operational maximal flight duration is less, according to payload and flight profile. Anadolu (L-400) is an amphibious assault ship of the Turkish Navy that can be configured as a V/STOL aircraft carrier. The TAI Aksungur is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) built by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) for the Turkish Armed Forces. Using existing technology from the TAI Anka series of drones, it is the manufacturer's largest drone with payload capacity for mission-specific equipment. The aircraft are monitored and controlled by an aircrew in a ground control station, including weapons employment. Selçuk Bayraktar is a Turkish engineer and businessman. He is the chairman of the board and the chief technology officer of the Turkish technology company Baykar. He is also known as the architect of Turkey's first indigenous unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) Bayraktar TB2 and first unmanned fighter jet Bayraktar Kızılelma. Bayraktar is also the founding chairman of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation.
The Baykar Bayraktar Kızılelma is a single-engine, low-observable, carrier-capable, jet-powered unmanned combat aerial vehicle, currently in development by Turkish defense company Baykar. The aircraft is being developed as part of Project MIUS. The first version of Bayraktar Kızılelma (Kızılelma-A) is subsonic. Both future versions of Bayraktar Kızılelma will be supersonic, the latter having a twin engine configuration.
The Baykar Bayraktar TB3 is a Turkish medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) capable of short-range landing and take-off, produced by Baykar. It is currently being developed due to the lack of aircraft to be deployed on the TCG Anadolu amphibious assault ship. According to the initial plans the ship was expected to be equipped with Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II fighter jets but following the removal of Turkey from the procurement program, the vessel entered a modification process to allow it to be able to accommodate UAVs.
