Raleigh County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 78,859. Its county seat is Beckley. The county was founded in 1850 and is named for Sir Walter Raleigh.

It was the former home to the Roanoke Dazzle basketball team, as well as the Roanoke Express and Roanoke Valley Vipers ice hockey teams. Currently, it is the home of the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the Southern Professional Hockey League, Virginia Tech, Radford University and Roanoke College men's ice hockey teams. It hosts local sporting events, concerts, and assorted other engagements such as the Miss Arkansas Pageant. It was opened in 2003 with a concert by Tony Bennett. The arena can seat 6,050 for sporting events and circuses. It has hosted the Arkansas Activities Association's High School Basketball Championships since 2012 and the Great American Conference's Women's Volleyball Championship since 2013. It has been the site of the Forrest L. Wood national bass fishing championship three times and will host the event again in 2015.
Woodrow Wilson High School is a secondary school located in Beckley, West Virginia, (USA), teaching grades nine through twelve. It is one of four secondary schools in the Raleigh County School District. In 1967, it moved from its original location to its current location at 400 Stanaford Road.

It was built in 1982 and completed an expansion to its lobby and meeting facilities in 2008. The site of the convention center was built where the former Jefferson Hotel once stood.
