Belle Air Sh.p.k (stylized as belleair) was a privately owned Albanian low-cost airline headquartered in Tirana. [2]

History

Belle Air was founded in 2005. It ceased operations on 24 November 2013 stating economic difficulties. [1] [3] [4] Their fleet has been returned to the lessors. [1] [5] Belle Air Europe was a sister company to the airline, founded in 2009 and based in Ancona, Italy. It ceased operations two days after the parent company. [6]

Destinations

Belle Air operated international flights on scheduled services to several cities in Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Switzerland and the UK out of Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza.[ citation needed ]

Air One S.p.A. was an Italian low-cost airline which operated as Air One "Smart Carrier". It operated as Alitalia's low-cost subsidiary with operating bases located in Catania, Palermo, Pisa, Venice and Verona; while Tirana was a focus city. "Air One" is a portmanteau of the English meaning Air One and the Italian word 'airone', pronounced IPA [ai'rone], meaning heron, which was also the airline's callsign.

Belle Air Europe was a privately owned low-cost airline, founded in 2009 as a subsidiary by Belle Air, having its head office in Ancona, Italy. On 26 November 2013 Belle Air Europe ceased operations due to financial difficulties, just two days after the parent company Belle Air suspended operations as well.

Ernest Airlines was an Italian low-cost carrier, headquartered in Milan. The airline briefly operated a fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft to over 20 destinations, mainly from its main base at Milan Malpensa Airport. Operations commenced in July 2016, but ceased in January 2020.

Air Albania is the flag carrier of Albania. The airline maintains its hub and company headquarters at the Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza in Tirana, Albania. Founded in 2018, it operates scheduled air services for passengers to six destinations in Europe.

Albtransport was Albania's government-owned flag carrier between 1957 and 1991. Throughout its existence, it only sporadically carried out civil flights with the Ilyushin Il-14 of the Albanian Air Force. The state-owned company was primarily responsible for national issues in civil aviation, including air traffic control in Albania and handling at Tirana Airport and its management.
