Bellroy is an Australian accessories brand making carry goods, including bags, folios, wallets, [1] [2] [3] [4] pouches, mobile phone cases, and key covers. [5] [6] It is a certified B Corporation. [7]

History

Bellroy was founded in 2009 by designers Andrew Fallshaw and Hadrien Monloup, [8] and engineers Lina Calabria and Matthew Fallshaw. [9] Its first products to market were slim wallets. [10] The name Bellroy is derived from the towns of Bells Beach and Fitzroy, where the company has offices. [11] The brand launched its first wallets in August 2010. [12] [13]

In April 2019, Bellroy announced a partnership with Silas Capital, a New York-based growth equity firm that invests in consumer brands; [14] [15] and later that year was valued at $83 million. [16] In 2021 Bellroy was voted Australia's best small business workplace. [17] As of 2023, Bellroy has over 100 employees. [18]

It was announced on 13 October 2020, in conjunction with the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro series. It provides up to 15 W of power and is compatible with the open Qi standard for up to 7.5 W of power. The connector also enables connecting non-charger accessories such as card holders and cases with communication through an integrated NFC loop. The charger uses a circle of rare-earth magnets.
