The Berlin Football Association (German : Berliner Fussball-Verband, BFV) is the umbrella organization of football clubs in the German capital Berlin. The BFV was founded in 1897 [1] and has its headquarters in Berlin. President of the BFV is Bernd Schultz. [2]

The BFV belongs to the Northeastern German Football Association [3] and is one of 21 state organizations of the German Football Association (German: Deutscher Fussball-Bund – DFB). [4]

In 2017 the BFV had 150,981 members from 391 football clubs with 3,501 teams. [5]

The German Football Association is the successful governing body of football in Germany. A founding member of both FIFA and UEFA, the DFB has jurisdiction for the German football league system and is in charge of the men's and women's national teams. Fortuna Berlin was a German association football club established on 1 November 1894 in Berlin out of the memberships of the clubs Semnonia Berlin and Berliner FC Hercynia. The short-lived side is notable as one of the founding clubs of the German Football Association in Leipzig in 1900. The club colours were black and blue and the footballers played in a kit of white shirts and black shorts at their home pitch at Tempelhofer Feld.

Brandenburg football championship

The Brandenburg football championship was the highest association football competition in the Prussian Province of Brandenburg, including Berlin, established in 1898. The competition was disbanded in 1933 with the rise of the Nazis to power.

BFuCC Deutschland Berlin was an early German association football club from the city of Berlin. The club is notable as one of the founding clubs of the German Football Association at Leipzig in 1900. The club's full name was Berliner Fußball -und Cricket Club Deutschland and, like many other clubs of the era built around enthusiasm for the new English sports of football, rugby, and cricket, Deutschland also fielded a cricket side.

The Middle Rhine Football Association is the umbrella organization of the football clubs in the German mid-Rhein area and covers the football districts of Aachen, Berg, Bonn, Düren, Euskirchen, Heinsberg, Cologne, Rhein-Erft-Kreis and Rhein-Sieg-Kreis. The FVM was founded in 1946 and has its headquarters at the Sportschule Hennef. President of the association is Alfred Vianden.

The Westphalia Football and Athletics Association is the umbrella organization of football and athletics clubs in the German Westphalia area, and comprises 29 districts. The FLVW was created in 1954 through the merger of the Football Association of Westphalia, founded in 1946, with the Athletics Association of Westphalia. The FLVW has its headquarters in Kamen. President of the FLVW is Gundolf Walaschewski.

The Brandenburg Football Association, is the umbrella organization of the football clubs in the German state Brandenburg and covers the football districts of Lower Lusatia, Prignitz/Ruppin, Uckermark, Havelland, South Brandenburg, Dahme/Fläming, Oberhavel-Barnim and East Brandenburg. The FLB was founded in 1990 and has its headquarters in Cottbus. President of the association is Jens Kaden.

The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Football Association, is the umbrella organization of the football clubs in the German state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and covers the football districts of Mecklenburg Lake District, Vorpommern-Rügen, Schwerin – Nordwestmecklenburg, Western Pomerania – Greifswald, Warnow and West Mecklenburg. The LFV was founded in 1990 and has its headquarters in Rostock. President of the association is Joachim Masuch.

The Saxony Football Association, is the umbrella organization of the football clubs in the German state Saxony and covers 13 football districts. The SFV was founded in 1990 and has its headquarters in Leipzig. President of the association is Klaus Reichenbach.

Thuringian Football Association

The Thuringia Football Association, is the umbrella organization of the football clubs in the German state Thuringia and covers nine football districts. The TFV was founded in 1990 and has its headquarters in Erfurt. President of the association is Wolfhardt Tomaschewski.

Rainer Koch German jurist and football official (born 1958)

Rainer Koch is a German jurist and football official. From November 2015 to April 2016, he was the acting president of the German Football Association along with Reinhard Rauball.
