Bill Battle Coliseum is a 2,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Birmingham, Alabama. [1] [2] The arena opened in 1981 and is home to the Birmingham-Southern College Panthers basketball team.

The arena will be the venue for karate, jujitsu, and wushu taolu (invitational) during the 2022 World Games (previously scheduled for 2021). [3]

It is now home to all services of ROTC and several Wolfpack teams, including women's basketball, women's volleyball, women's gymnastics, and men's wrestling. The university named the court in Reynolds "Kay Yow Court" on February 16, 2007 with the assistance of a substantial donation from the Wolfpack Club. Bartow Arena is an 8,508-seat multi-purpose arena in Birmingham, in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is home to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Blazers men's and women's basketball teams as well as the women's volleyball team. The arena is named after Gene Bartow, the coach who built the school's men's basketball program from scratch over the last quarter of the 20th century. UAB initially played their games at the Birmingham–Jefferson Convention Complex Arena, now known as Legacy Arena, but moved its games to the on-campus facility beginning with the 1988–89 season.

The Birmingham–Jefferson Convention Complex is a sports, convention and entertainment complex located in Birmingham, Alabama. The Sheraton Birmingham and Westin Birmingham are located on the complex adjoining the convention center. This is due to be the third time England has hosted the Games, after London in 1934 and Manchester in 2002.

2022 World Games

The World Games 2022 will be the eleventh World Games, a major international multi-sport event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that were not contested in the Olympic Games. While originally scheduled for July 2021, due to the rescheduling of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, The World Games 2022 will be held July 7 to 17, 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. It was chosen by the International World Games Association on January 22, 2015. It will feature 30 official sports in 54 disciplines which will be contested at 30 venues across the Birmingham area.

Legacy Arena

Legacy Arena is an arena located at the Birmingham–Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama. The arena seats 17,654 for sporting events, 19,000 for concerts and 8,000 in a theater setting. When the arena is converted to theater seating, the arena serves under the name Magic City Theatre.

2020 NCAA Division I Womens Basketball Tournament

The 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament was scheduled to be played in March and April 2020, with the Final Four played Friday, April 3 and Sunday, April 5 to determine the champion of the 2019–20 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Final Four was planned to be played at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, with the University of New Orleans, Tulane University and the Sun Belt Conference serving as hosts. This is the fourth time that New Orleans has been selected as a women's Final Four location and third time at the Smoothie King Center ; the 1991 Final Four was contested at the University of New Orleans' Lakefront Arena. ESPN had planned to nationally televise all 63 games of the women's tournament for the first time ever.

The 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament is an ongoing single-elimination tournament of 68 teams to determine the men's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college basketball national champion for the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 82nd edition of the tournament began play on March 18, 2021 in sites around the state of Indiana, and will conclude with the championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on April 5, 2021.

Erie BayHawks American professional basketball team of the NBA G League

The Erie BayHawks are an American professional basketball team of the NBA G League and an affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association. The team began play in 2019 in Erie, Pennsylvania, with home games at the Erie Insurance Arena. The New Orleans Pelicans plan to relocate their G League franchise to Birmingham, Alabama, to play at a renovated Legacy Arena for the 2021–22 or 2022–23 season. This is the third incarnation of the team, which had been playing in the city continuously since 2008.

The wushu (taolu) competition at the 2022 World Games will take place in July of 2022, in Birmingham, at the Bill Battle Coliseum. Originally scheduled to take place in July 2021, the Games have been rescheduled for July 2022 as a result of the 2020 Summer Olympics postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
