History

2003–2005: Formation to Built By Blood

Keith Thompson left Baltimore for Los Angeles in 2002, and Brandon Thomas followed in early 2003. The pair formed Bleed the Dream in spring 2003.[ citation needed ]

Moving to Los Angeles, the band spent the next year touring from city to city and polishing their sound, landing a spot on the Warped Tour in 2004, and again in 2005. [1]

In 2004, the band's guitarist, Dave Aguilera, created his own label, Maphia Records, which released two EPs by the band: "Awake" and the unplugged, acoustic "Asleep". The band subsequently released a DVD, No Apologies , edited by Scott Gottlieb from tour footage and behind the scene fan cameras.

Kevin Lyman, creator of the Warped Tour, created his own label, Warcon Enterprises, signed Bleed the Dream, and released their first full-length album, Built By Blood in May 2005.

In spring 2005, Bleed the Dream joined the Taste of Chaos tour featuring The Used and My Chemical Romance. During this time, Scott Gottlieb fell ill due to the rough life on the road, having collapsed during a performance a year earlier and been rushed to hospital. He was diagnosed with leukemia and died on April 10, 2005, two weeks before the release of Built by Blood.

2006–2007: Killer Inside and break-up

Bleed the Dream finished 2005 by joining Taste of Chaos Europe with headliners The Used and Story of the Year. In December, the band took time off touring to write, and Tom Breyfogle from Ohio replaced Gottlieb on drums in January 2006. On May 24, 2006, the band released a press statement announcing that Brandon Thomas would no longer be singing for the group, to be replaced by Mark Holmes, former lead singer of Like Yesterday, who would sing for the band from 2006 to 2007.

In April 2006, Bleed the Dream toured the U.K. supporting Story of the Year, alongside hardcore punk band Stretch Arm Strong. They then joined Never Heard of It, Army of Freshmen, and Crowned King on tour in Japan.

In July 2006, the band recorded a new album in Canada with producers Garth Richardson and Ben Caplan, entitled Killer Inside. In late 2006, the band finished filming a music video for the song "Closer", the first single from Killer Inside. The video features the band members playing grim reaper type stalkers to the lead singer, and finishes with the band playing paramedics to their bloody lead singer.

On September 24, 2007, Bleed the Dream posted a bulletin on MySpace announcing that "After many years of ups and downs we're calling it quits...".

2014–present: Reformation

In 2014, Thomas became the lead vocalist again. [2] The following year the band announced that it would reunite to record a new EP, adding long-time guitar and bass tech, Fatally Yours guitarist Christian Rivera as a permanent member on rhythm guitar. [2]

In 2017, Bleed the Dream began work on a new EP, with Periphery's Matt Halpern filling in on drums.

Tours

The band has appeared on the Taste of Chaos Tour and the Van's Warped Tour. They are also featured in a Warped Tour documentary, Wake Up Screaming. [3] Their song "Streets of Baltimore" was played for a national audience during a FOX broadcast of a Baltimore Ravens' football game on November 19, 2006. Recently, they appeared on Japanese rock band Dir En Grey's INWARD SCREAM TOUR 07, which began on February 1, 2007, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. [4]

The label signed Senses Fail; it had a distribution deal with MCA Records, which allowed them to acquire acts from Drive-Thru. Recording for the band's debut occurred at several studios in New Jersey in April 2003 with producer Steve Evetts. Additional recording took place at the end of the year. Described as an emo and screamo record, several of the songs on Let It Enfold You were influenced by poetry and literature.

STEMM is an American heavy metal band from Niagara Falls, New York. STEMM was formed in 1998 by Joe Cafarella. He, along with Louie and Jimi Penque, Russ Martin, and Alex Scouten made up the original lineup of the band. Alex left the band in 1999, and was briefly replaced by guitarist Fred Blackwell. Rich Spalla replaced Fred shortly after. This lineup remained intact until 2003. Joe and Rich merged with drummer Danny Nelligan, bassist Stephen Crowl, and vocalist TJ Frost of Buffalo band 5 Years Gone, to create a new incarnation of the band. This lineup also saw a change in the musical direction of the band from Rapcore to more of a metal act.

My American Heart is an American rock band from San Diego, California, formed in 2001. Originally named No Way Out, the band released two studio albums through Warcon Enterprises and toured the world before disbanding in late 2009. They reunited in 2017.

Matchbook Romance was an American emo band from Poughkeepsie, New York and was formed in 1997. They were signed to Epitaph Records. They released two full-length albums and one EP. Their EP, West for Wishing, released in 2003 was their first recorded album during their time on Epitaph; their full-length debut album, Stories and Alibis, was recorded in the same year.

Taste of Chaos was a live music tour that was started in the winter of 2005 by Kevin Lyman, the creator of the successful Warped Tour along with his friend and business partner, John Reese. The Taste of Chaos tour catered to fans of the post-hardcore, emo, pop punk and metalcore genres, while offering the same low ticket price and festival-style format as the Warped Tour. In 2007, each of the seven bands playing the entire tour was a Warped Tour veteran: five had played the 2006 Warped Tour and two had played TOC previously.

Warcon Enterprises was a New York City based independent record label focusing on mostly post-hardcore, started by Bob Chiappardi of Concrete Marketing and Kevin Lyman, the founder of Warped Tour, in 2004. Warcon was a sponsor of the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour. Warcon was distributed through Alternative Distribution Alliance and Fontana Distribution, and operated as the distributor of UK label Demolition Records in the United States starting in August 2006. Warcon signed contracts with artists which included integration of merchandise and marketing along with distribution of albums. Among its signatories were Helmet and My American Heart. It also released the soundtrack to the film Saw III.

Adair was an American rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. The members of the band had performed together in St. Louis for eight years performing under the moniker of Disturbing the Peace before formally changing their name to Adair in 2001. The final five-member band consisted of local St. Louisans; Rob Tweedie as frontman, both Josh Goldenhersh and Patrick Baum on guitar and vocals, Matt Tuttle on drums, and Jeff Meyer on bass guitar. After recording their premiere EP The Permanent Bruise, the band moved to California.
