The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSE) or(BSER) [1] is a State Level board of education in the Indian state Rajasthan, for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of Rajasthan. The board is responsible for promotion and development of secondary education in Rajasthan state. RBSE was Established in the year 1957 and constituted under the Rajasthan Secondary Education Act 1957.All schools affiliated to RBSE follow the NCERT curriculum especially from class 9 to 12. The current Chairperson of RBSE is Laxmi Narayan Mantri (IAS).

Examinations

RBSE conducts the final examinations for Class 5, Class 8, Class 10 and Class 12 every year in the month of March/April. The results are announced by the end of June. [2] Results of examinations conducted by RBSE can be accessed via website.

Languages

RBSE offers academic subjects in regional languages were English and Hindi (Hindi Course-A, Hindi Course-B) are compulsory and other subjects are Arabic, Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Meitei (Manipuri), Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu.

Promotion criteria

Class 10

For promotion from Secondary level (Class IX-X) to Senior Secondary level (Class XI-XII), a student must obtain, for all subjects (or best five of six subjects are taken), 33% overall, without any minimum theory mark requirement. Originally, the passing criteria were set such that a student had to get 33% in both the theory and practical components. Students who do not manage to pass up to two subjects can write the compartment in those subjects in September. Those who fail the compartment, or fail in three subjects or more, must rewrite all the subjects taken in the next year.

Class 12

For class 12 students the promotion criteria are 33% overall, with 33% in both theory and practical examinations (if applicable). Students who do not manage to pass in exactly one subject can write the compartment for that subject in September. Those who fail the compartment, or those who fail in two subjects or more, must rewrite all the subjects taken in the next year.

The Directorate of Government Examinations was formed as a separate directorate in India in February 1975. Prior to the formation of Directorate Of Government Examinations, the then DPI/DSE was the ex-officio commissioner for Government exams and the department was having its office at Madras only. Madhyamik Pariksha or simply Madhyamik is a centralized examination conducted by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in West Bengal, India, at the end of the 10th year of school education. Similarly, one examination is also conducted at the state of Tripura for its students studying in Govt or Govt Aided school under the control of Tripura Board of Secondary Education. The First Year of the PUC is commonly referred to as 1st PUC or Class 11th,, and the Second Year of the PUC as 2nd PUC or Class 12th. All India Secondary School Examination ( Secondary School Examination)commonly known as Class 10th board exams, is a centralized public examination that students in schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, primarily in India but also in other Indian-patterned schools affiliated to the CBSE across the world. taken at the end of class 10. The board conducts the examination during the period of February- March earlier it was taken in March to April every year. In this exam, Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Science (History, Geography, Political Science, Economics) are compulsory with any two languages (official language of medium and foreign/schedule languages). Students can also opt skill subject such as information technology, painting, yoga, music or artificial intelligence. The All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) also called Class 12Board Exams in common language, is the final examination conducted every year for high school students by the Central Board of Secondary Education on behalf of the Government of India.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), formerly National Open School is a national level board of education in India, controlled and managed by the Government of India. It was established by the Ministry of Education of the Government of India in 1989.
