Brad Long (born June 14, 1962) is an American motivational speaker, former actor, and former college athlete. [1] [2]
Long played college basketball for the Southwestern Moundbuilders. Long graduated from Southwestern College in 1985, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. [3]
Long is best known for his role in the 1986 film Hoosiers, where he portrayed the character of basketball team captain "Buddy" Walker. [4] [5] Long did not pursue a career in acting after Hoosiers, and later became a motivational speaker. Long is also a church deacon. [6] Long was featured in the May 2004 issue of Indianapolis Monthly after it was believed that he had appeared in an erotic B-movie called Exit. It was later discovered that the actor in the film was another Brad Long.
Long has toured the country as a speaker, visiting schools and sports teams. Long has also been featured on The Dan Patrick Show and WROK-AM. [7] [8]

Long and his wife, Lisa, reside in Whiteland, Indiana. He has two children, Shelby and Landry.

The Southwestern Moundbuilders are the athletic teams that represent Southwestern College, located in Winfield, Kansas, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) since the 1958–59 academic year; which they were a member on a previous stint from 1902–03 to 1922–23. The Moundbinders previously competed in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (CIC) from 1923–24 to 1957–58.

Landon Montel Turner is an American former basketball player. He played college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers and won an NCAA championship as a junior in 1981. Hoosiers head coach Bob Knight considered Turner to have the potential to be the best player he ever coached. Primed for a breakthrough senior season and considered a top National Basketball Association (NBA) draft pick, Turner's basketball career came to an end when he was paralyzed from the chest down in a car accident in July 1981. He stayed with the Hoosiers as a team captain during the 1981–82 season before the Boston Celtics honored Turner by selecting him as the final pick of the 1982 NBA draft. He played wheelchair basketball for three years before he embarked on a career as a motivational speaker. Turner is a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and the Indiana University Athletics Hall of Fame.
