Brian Mervin McMillan (born 22 December 1963) played 38 Test matches and 78 One Day Internationals for South Africa from 1991 to 1998. He was rated by many as the best all-rounder in the world in the mid-1990s,and won South African Cricket Annual Cricketer of the Year awards in 1991 and 1996.
McMillan was a right arm medium-pace bowler and right-handed batsman. He was also a leading slip fielder,and holds the highest percentage of catches per Test for an outfielder in South Africa Test cricket history.
McMillan made his Test debut in November 1992,against India at Durban,in South Africa's first home Test match in over 20 years. He was a key member of the South African team post their re-admittance to world cricket in 1991. McMillan made his ODI debut in November 1991,against India at Eden Gardens. [1]
In domestic cricket,he represented Transvaal for four seasons from 1984–85 to 1988–89,and Western Province from 1989–90 until his retirement in the 1999–00 season. He also spent a season with Warwickshire in 1986.
McMillan has also been a professional teacher in Durban university. He currently heads an office automation firm in Cape Town.
Wessel Johannes"Hansie" Cronje was a South African international cricketer and captain of the South Africa national cricket team in the 1990s. A right-handed all-rounder,as captain Cronje led his team to victory in 27 Test matches and 99 One Day Internationals. Cronje also led South Africa to win the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy,the only major ICC title the country has won to date. In the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy Final,Cronje played a major role with the bat with his 61 not out,leading the team to victory by 4 wickets. He was voted the 11th-greatest South African in 2004 despite having been banned from cricket for life due to his role in a match-fixing scandal. He died in a plane crash in 2002.
The New Zealand national cricket team represents New Zealand in men's international cricket. Nicknamed the Black Caps,they played their first Test in 1930 against England in Christchurch,becoming the fifth country to play Test cricket. From 1930 New Zealand had to wait until 1956,more than 26 years,for its first Test victory,against the West Indies at Eden Park in Auckland. Javagal Srinath, is a former Indian cricketer and currently an ICC match referee. He is considered among India's finest fast bowlers,and was the first Indian fast bowler to take more than 300 wickets in One Day Internationals. With India,Srinath was a member of the Indian team that was the joint-winners of the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy,a title they shared with Sri Lanka,and was a member of the team that were runners-up in the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
Jacques Henry Kallis OIS is a South African cricket coach and former professional cricketer. Widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time and as the greatest all-rounder ever to play the game,he is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium swing bowler. As of 2022,Kallis is the only cricketer in the history of the game to score more than 10,000 runs and take over 250 wickets in both ODI and Test match cricket. He has also taken 131 ODI catches. He scored 13,289 runs in his Test match career,took 292 wickets,and 200 catches. Kallis scored 45 Test match centuries and is the third highest test match run scorer in history. Kallis won 23 Man-of-the-Match awards,the most by any player in Test history.
Brett Lee is an Australian former international cricketer,who played all three formats of the game. During his international career,Lee was recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in the world. With his time representing Australia,Lee won multiple ICC titles with the team:the 2003 Cricket World Cup,the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy,and the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy. Lee was the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20 format of the game which he did in 2007 ICC World Twenty20 in the inaugural tournament against Bangladesh,subsequently being the first bowler to do so at an ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Lee was also the first Australian bowler to take a hat-trick at a Cricket World Cup which he did in the 2003 Cricket World Cup Super Match game against Kenya.
Adam Craig Gilchrist is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer and captain of the Australia national cricket team. He was an attacking left-handed batsman and record-breaking wicket-keeper,who redefined the role for the Australia national team through his aggressive batting. Widely regarded as one of the greatest wicket-keeper-batsman in the history of the game,Gilchrist held the world record for the most dismissals by a wicket-keeper in One Day International (ODI) cricket until it was surpassed by Kumar Sangakkara in 2015 and the most by an Australian in Test cricket. Gilchrist was a member of the Australian team that won three consecutive world titles in a row:the 1999 Cricket World Cup,the 2003 Cricket World Cup,and the 2007 Cricket World Cup,along with winning the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy.
Makhaya Ntini is a South African former professional cricketer,who played all forms of the game. He was the first black player to play for the South African national cricket team. Ntini was a member of the South Africa team that won the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy,the only ICC trophy the country has won to date.
Andrew James Hall is a former South African first-class cricketer who played from 1999 until 2011. Venkatesh Prasad,is a former Indian cricketer,Cricket Coach,Commentator who played Tests and ODIs. He made his debut in 1994. Primarily a right-arm medium-fast bowler,Prasad was noted for his bowling combination with Javagal Srinath. He was a part of the squad which finished as runners-up at the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy.
Hashim Mahomed Amla OIS is a South African former international cricketer who captained the national side in Tests and ODIs. Amla holds the record for being the fastest ever to score 3,000,4,000,6,000 and 7,000 ODI runs,and second fastest to reach 5,000 runs. He also became the fastest cricketer to reach 10 ODI centuries. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen to have played for South Africa,and one of the greatest opening batsmen of all time.
Jeetan Shashi Patel is a former New Zealand international cricketer. A right arm off spin bowler,he plays for Wellington in New Zealand and Warwickshire in England. He is also the spin bowling coach for the England cricket team.
Jonathan Neil "Jonty" Rhodes is a South African professional cricket coach,commentator and former Test and One Day International cricketer. He is regarded as one of the greatest fielders of all time and was the first South African cricketer to take 100 ODI catches. He played for the South African cricket team between 1992 and 2003. He is the fielding coach of the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. He is the fielding coach of Durban's Super Giants as well as the consultant fielding coach of the Sri Lanka national cricket team. Temba Bavuma is a South African international cricketer who is the current captain of the South African cricket team in Tests and ODI cricket,and formerly captained in T20I. He is now predominantly a right-handed opening batsman. He was the first black African cricketer to make a Test century for South Africa and the first to captain the side. Bavuma is one of three South African cricketers to score a century on ODI debut,scoring 113 runs against Ireland in September 2016.
