Briniates

The Briniates were an ancient Ligurian tribe mentioned by Livy as being subjugated by Rome under consuls Marcus Aemilius Lepidus and Quintus Mucius Scaevola in 175 BCE. [1] They inhabited the valley of the Vara. [2]
