Brooklands Hockey Club also known as Brooklands MU (men) and Brooklands Poynton (women) is a field hockey club that is based at the Brooklands Sports Club [1] at Georges Road in Sale, Cheshire. [2]
The club runs seven men's teams (six senior and one veterans) and four women's teams, four junior teams and three mini teams. [3] The men's first XI play in the Men's England Hockey League [4] and the women's first XI play in the Women's England Hockey League. [5]
Originally a cricket club on land owned by the Brooks family the hockey element arrived in 1889. Brooklands Hockey Club merged with the Manchester University hockey team in 2002 [6] and the ladies section of the club merged with the Poynton Ladies Club in 2009. [7]
Lacrosse in England is an amateur sport played mainly by community based clubs and university teams. Field lacrosse was introduced to England in 1876 by William George Beers and other Canadians who toured the country playing exhibition matches. A second tour was arranged in 1883; by then England had 60 clubs playing regular fixtures in Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, Lancashire, Middlesex and Yorkshire.
Chloe Naomi Rogers is an English field hockey player midfield and forward and London 2012 Olympic bronze medal-winner. She is also one of the leading indoor hockey players in the UK.

Kate Louise Richardson-Walsh, is an Olympic Gold and Bronze Medal winning English field hockey player. She was capped a record 375 times for her country and was the England and Great Britain Captain for 13 years.
Helen Richardson-Walsh, is an English hockey player who plays as a midfielder. She has been a member of both the England and the Great Britain women's field hockey teams since 1999, and was a member of the Great Britain team that won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Canterbury Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Canterbury, England. The club was established in 1901 and the home ground is located just outside Canterbury at Polo Farm. There are two water-based pitches, a topped sand based pitch, purpose built Indoor Hockey Centre and a clubhouse.
Surbiton Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Long Ditton, Surrey, England. The club is one of the oldest hockey clubs in the world, being established in 1874. The home ground is based in Long Ditton, at Sugden Road. The club is currently the leading club in England with the women's team winning the league for eight years in succession and the men's team winning the three of the last four league titles.

The 2016–2017 English Hockey League season took place from September 2016 until April 2017. The regular season consisted of two periods September until December and then February until March. The end of season playoffs known as the League Finals Weekend was held on 22 & 23 April.
Megan Frazer is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup. She has also captained the Ireland team. Frazer was a member of the Maryland Terrapins team that won the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championships. Between 2010 and 2012 she was named three times as an NFHCA All-American and in 2011 she also won the Honda Sports Award. Frazer has also won Irish Senior Cup titles with Ulster Elks.
The 2016–17 Investec Women's Hockey Premier Division season took place between September 2016 and April 2017. Surbiton won the title for the fourth consecutive season. They won both the regular season and the League Finals Weekend. Reading were relegated to the Conferences.
Bishop's Stortford Hockey Club is a field hockey club in the town of Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England. The club plays in the East Region Hockey Association. The home ground is located at The Hertfordshire and Essex High School, where both the clubhouse and pitch are located.
