Clark County is located in the U.S. state of Nevada. As of the 2020 census,the population was 2,265,461. Most of the county population resides in the Las Vegas Census County Divisions,which hold 1,771,945 people as of the 2010 Census,across 476 square miles (1,233 km2). It is by far the most populous county in Nevada,and the 11th most populous county in the United States. It covers 7% of the state's land area but holds 74% of the state's population,making Nevada one of the most centralized states in the United States.

The Las Vegas Monorail is a 3.9-mile (6.3 km) automated monorail mass transit system located adjacent to the Las Vegas Strip,in Clark County,Nevada,United States. It connects several large casinos in the unincorporated communities of Paradise and Winchester,and does not enter the City of Las Vegas. It was privately owned and operated by the Las Vegas Monorail Company until their 2020 bankruptcy when it was sold to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority,a local government agency. In 2013,total annual ridership was roughly 4.2 million,down from a pre-Great Recession peak of 7.9 million in 2007. The monorail is a registered not-for-profit corporation,allowed under Nevada law since the monorail provides a public service. The State of Nevada assisted in bond financing,but no public money was used in construction.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is a combined city and county law enforcement agency for the City of Las Vegas and Clark County,Nevada,United States. It is headed by the Sheriff of Clark County,who is publicly elected every four years. Sheriff Joe Lombardo has headed the department since January 5,2015. The sheriff is the only elected head law enforcement officer within the county,and,as such,the department is not under the direct control of its jurisdictional cities,Clark County,or the State of Nevada.
The Las Vegas Beltway is a 50-mile (80 km) beltway route circling three-quarters of the Las Vegas Valley in southern Nevada. The Las Vegas Beltway carries two numerical designations. Approximately 12.8 miles (20.6 km) of the highway,from its southern terminus at Interstate 11 (I-11) / I-515 / U.S. Route 93 (US 93) / US 95 in Henderson west and northwest to I-15,is signed as Interstate 215 (I-215) and maintained by the Nevada Department of Transportation. Clark County Route 215 (CC 215) composes the remaining 37.2 miles (59.9 km) of this semi-circumferential highway,with the county's Department of Public Works responsible for all construction and maintenance.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority(LVCVA) is a government agency and the official destination marketing organization for Southern Nevada. It was founded by the Nevada Legislature in 1955. The LVCVA owns and operates the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and is responsible for the advertising campaigns for the Clark County,Nevada area. The LVCVA also owns the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop and the Las Vegas Monorail. The LVCVA previously operated the Cashman Center complex;however the City of Las Vegas took control of Cashman Center at the end of 2017 and is evaluating possibilities for the facility's future.

Melissa Woodbury is an American politician. She served as a Republican member of the Nevada Assembly from 2008 to 2018 representing District 23. Woodbury served as Minority Whip in the 2017 legislative session.
The 2018 Nevada gubernatorial election took place on November 6,2018,to elect the next Governor of Nevada. Incumbent Republican Governor Brian Sandoval was ineligible to run for re-election,due to the absolute two-term limit established by the Nevada Constitution. Nevada is one of eight U.S. states that prohibits its governors or any other state and territorial executive branch officials from serving more than two terms,even if they are nonconsecutive.

The elections will coincide with the Nevada gubernatorial election,as well as other elections to the U.S. House of Representatives,elections to the U.S. Senate,and various state and local elections.
