Buggana Rajendranath Reddy(born 27 September 1970) is an Indian politician Minister for Finance,Planning and Legislative Affairs in the government of Andhra Pradesh. [1] [2] [3] [4] He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Dhone Assembly constituency in both 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election and 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. From 2016 to 2019,he also served as the Public Accounts Committee Chairman of Andhra Pradesh. [5]
Buggana Rajendranath Reddy was born in Bethamcherla of Kurnool district,Andhra Pradesh,to Buggana Ramnath Reddy (Sarpanch to Bethamcherla,Kurnool District,Andhra Pradesh) and Buggana Parvathi Devi. His maternal grandfather,K. V. Reddy,was a prominent Indian film maker. [6] [7] [8]
Buggana Rajendranath did his schooling at The Hyderabad Public School,Begumpet and pursued his high school education at Madras Christian College,Chennai. The 2019–2023 Amaravati protests, simply known as Amaravati protests, are ongoing demonstrations in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh triggered by the idea of changing the one capital of Amaravati already identified and developed partially, to three capitals of Amaravati, Visakhapatnam and Kurnool by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. This led to concerns that the decision would create chaos and insecurity for farmers who gave their fertile agricultural lands to the government in 29 villages of Guntur and Krishna districts. The protests began in Mandadam, Thullur, Uddandarayunipalem on 18 December 2019. In a few days, the protests spread across Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, in Andhra Pradesh. On 17 December 2020, series of events were done to mark the protests' anniversary.
