Laos (,, officially the Lao People's Democratic Republic, is a socialist state and the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia. At the heart of the Indochinese Peninsula, Laos is bordered by Myanmar and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the southeast, and Thailand to the west and southwest. Its capital and largest city is Vientiane.

Udon Thani province is one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces (changwat) which lies in upper northeastern Thailand, also called Isan. The First Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge is a bridge over the Mekong, connecting Nong Khai Province and the city of Nong Khai in Thailand with Vientiane Prefecture in Laos; the city of Vientiane is approximately 20 km (12 mi) from the bridge. With a length of 1,170 meters (0.73 mi), the bridge has two 3.5 m -wide road lanes, two 1.5 m -wide footpaths and a single 1,000 mm gauge railway line in the middle, straddling the narrow central reservation.

Laos is a Buddhist-majority nation with the officially recognised Muslim population approximately constituting 0.01% of the total population as of 2008 census. The majority of Laotian Muslims are Sunni. Laotian Muslims can be found in the capital, Vientiane, which has two mosques, as well as other urban areas such as Savannakhet and Oudomxay; the latter of which had a mosque constructed there in June 2016. Laotian Muslims are an ethnically diverse group, mainly consisting of ethnic Lao, Chin Haw, Chams, Tamils and Pashtuns, with interracial marriages being increasingly popular. They are generally engaged in trade, agriculture, cosmetics, clothing and business though some have attained official roles with the government.
Hunan Broadcasting System (HBS) formerly known as Golden Eagle Broadcasting System (GBS), is China's second biggest state-owned television network after China Central Television (CCTV). The television network is owned by the Hunan provincial government. The network is based in Changsha in Hunan and Xining in Qinghai. On 20 May 2009, the television network expanded its service to Hong Kong and North America.
Perth FM 104.9 was a radio station in Perth, Western Australia. It was part of the CAMG Media Group and broadcast primarily in Mandarin. It broadcast from 12:00–22:00 local time. For the remainder of time broadcasting was covered by Perth Chinese Radio FM 90.5. From 1 January 2017 the frequency for FM 104.9 was decommissioned and only the FM 90.5 frequency is being used.
CRI Darhan at 103.7 FM is a radio station in Darhan, Mongolia. It is part of China Radio International. It broadcasts primarily in English. According to China Radio International, this is the second overseas radio station launch after CRI Nairobi Kenya 91.9 FM.

Thanaleng station, also known as Dongphosy station, is a railway station in Dongphosy village, Hadxayfong District, Vientiane Prefecture, Laos. It is 20 km (12 mi) east of the Lao capital city of Vientiane and 4 km (2.5 mi) north of the Lao-Thai border on the Mekong River. The station opened on 5 March 2009, becoming part of the first international railway link serving Laos. Originally intended for use as a passenger station, Lao officials have stated their intention to convert it to a rail freight terminal to provide a low-cost alternative to road freight, the main mode of transport for goods entering Thailand. The station provides a connection between Vientiane and the capital cities of three other ASEAN nations: Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, and several major Southeast Asian ports.
Radio Thailand is the public radio station in Thailand, owned by the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand. The station has six FM national radio, 65 FM provincial radio, 4 AM national radio, 46 AM provincial radio and World Service. Some Radio Thailand provincial radio stations can be received in neighbor countries of Thailand like Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
The Boten–Vientiane railway is a 422-kilometre (262 mi) 1,435 mmstandard gauge electrified railway in Laos, running between the capital Vientiane and the town of Boten on the border with Yunnan, China. The line was officially opened on 3 December 2021.
