Caleb Bonham (born November 7, 1986) is an American businessman and television personality in Denver, Colorado. [1] A frequent commentator on the Fox News Channel, [2] Bonham regularly offers political and business commentary expressing his millennial views [3] as they relate to educational [4] and economic issues. [5]

Bonham is currently the president of D/CO Consulting, [6] a firm he co-founded in 2015, [7] [8] which advises Fortune 500 companies and political figures. [9]

Early life and career

Caleb Bonham is from Fort Collins, Colorado. [10] He graduated with a B.A. in political science and a minor in Business Administration from Colorado State University [11] and began his career working at the Colorado State Capitol for Representative Brian DelGrosso. [12]

Bonham previously served as the editor-in-chief of Campus Reform, [13] [14] a college-based conservative news website that reports on "leftist bias and abuse on the nation's college campuses." [15] In 2014, Red Alert Politics named Caleb to their list of the 30 most influential right-of-center leaders under the age of 30. [16]

As a guest on numerous television and radio programs, Bonham has appeared on The Kelly File, [17] Anderson Cooper 360, [18] The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, [19] On The Record with Greta Van Susteren, [20] National Public Radio, [21] The Rush Limbaugh Show, [22] Fox and Friends, [23] and Hannity. Personal life

Bonham has been public about his diagnosis of Tourette syndrome (TS) and the impact it has had on his career. [25]

On May 12, 2015, Bonham was aboard Amtrak train 188, [26] which derailed in Philadelphia resulting in the death of eight passengers. In an interview with CNN, Bonham told Anderson Cooper that he was "fortunate to be able to walk away from the Amtrak train derailment alive." [27]

The 1995 Palo Verde derailment took place on October 9, 1995, when Amtrak's Sunset Limited was derailed by saboteurs near Palo Verde, Arizona on Southern Pacific Railroad tracks. Two locomotives, Amtrak GE P32-8BWH #511 leading and EMD F40PHR #398 trailing, and eight of twelve cars derailed, four of them falling 30 feet off a trestle bridge into a dry river bed. Mitchell Bates, a sleeping car attendant, was killed. Seventy-eight people were injured, 12 of them seriously and 25 were hospitalized.

On December 18, 2017, Amtrak Cascades passenger train 501 derailed near DuPont, Washington, United States. The National Transportation Safety Board's (NTSB) final report said regional transit authority Sound Transit failed to take steps to mitigate a curve at the accident location, and inadequately trained the train engineer. The train was making the inaugural run of the Point Defiance Bypass, a new passenger rail route south of Tacoma, Washington, operated by Amtrak in partnership with state and local authorities in Oregon and Washington, on right-of-way owned and operated by Sound Transit. The bypass was intended to reduce congestion and separate passenger and freight traffic, and was designed for faster speeds and shorter travel times, saving ten minutes from Seattle to Portland compared with the previous route used by Cascades.

On June 27, 2022, the Southwest Chief, a passenger train operated by Amtrak, derailed near the small town of Mendon, Missouri. The derailment was caused by the train striking a dump truck that was obstructing the crossing of County Road 113, about three miles (4.8 km) southwest of Mendon. Four people were killed in the wreck: three passengers on board the train and the truck driver, with up to 150 people injured.
