Camden Underworld is a music venue in Camden Town, London, England. The venue is a part of the World's End pub, situated in the basement of the building. It has a capacity of 500 people.
Over the years The Underworld has become the heart of the alternative music scene in England. Little is promoted about the history of the venue, although it dates back to the opening of the pub above it. The venue is owned by Glendola Leisure.
In 2007, during a press conference at The Underworld for his album Ziltoid the Omniscient , influential Canadian musician Devin Townsend chose to tell the press of his departure from touring and the breakup of his bands Strapping Young Lad and The Devin Townsend Band.
The Underworld also has a number of regular nights including a retro '80s night and Silver, a rock- and indie-themed event. Although the crowd tends to be young, some of the most popular events and music at the club include throwbacks, such as '80s and disco nights. [1]
On 11 May 2009, The Underworld played host to the first Thrash and Burn European Tour 2009 after a change in venue (the show was originally meant to be at the Electric Ballroom, also located in Camden Town, London).
Since 2010, The Underworld has also played host to many international gigs, most notably to events by the Nepalese community in England. Famous Nepali bands such as Mukti, Revival, and Cobweb played here in gigs organised by GigExtra. [2]
On 21 November 2010, The Underworld hosted the grand final of the national unsigned music competition Top of the Ox, which was won by singer-songwriter Ian Edwards. [3]
Between 2008 and 2012, the venue hosted four editions of the British Steel Festival, featuring bands including Elixir, Witchfynde, Praying Mantis, Pagan Altar, Cloven Hoof, Jaguar, and Gunslinger. [4]

Tenacious D is an American comedy rock duo formed in Los Angeles, in 1994. It was founded by actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass, who were then members of The Actors' Gang theater company. The duo's name is derived from "tenacious defense", a phrase used by NBA basketball sportscasters Walt Frazier and Marv Albert. Backing members include John Konesky, John Spiker, and Scott Seiver. Dave Grohl has recorded drums and percussion on all studio albums, but does not perform live.
Georg Albert Ruthenberg, better known by his stage name Pat Smear, is an American musician. He is best known for being the lead guitarist and co-founder of Los Angeles–based punk band The Germs and for being a rhythm guitarist for grunge band Nirvana, and Foo Fighters. After Nirvana disbanded following the suicide of its frontman Kurt Cobain, drummer Dave Grohl went on to become the frontman of Foo Fighters with Smear joining on guitar. Smear left Foo Fighters in 1997 before rejoining as a touring guitarist in 2005 and being promoted back to a full-time member in 2010.
Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. The Roundhouse is a performing arts and concert venue situated at the Grade II* listed former railway engine shed in Chalk Farm, London, England. The building was erected in 1846–1847 by the London & North Western Railway as a roundhouse, a circular building containing a railway turntable, but was used for that purpose for only about a decade. After being used as a warehouse for a number of years, the building fell into disuse just before World War II. It was first made a listed building in 1954.

SFX Hall, sometimes referred to as SFX Theatre or The SFX, was a theatre located on Upper Sherrard Street, in Dublin, Ireland. The venue was named after the St Francis Xavier Hall and constructed in 1957, although a theater had been located on that site since the middle of the 19th century. The theatre served as the national concert hall, a home to the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra, and on occasion, large-scale performances. The venue had a standing capacity of 1000 and hosted pop and rock music concerts until 2001 when the shows were moved to the Ambassador Theatre. In 1982, the Irish band U2 performed three shows at the SFX in support of their album War. At one time the Dublin Theater Festival was housed at the SFX.
Dingwalls Dancehall is a live music and comedy venue adjacent to Camden Lock, Camden, London, England. The building itself is one of many industrial Victorian buildings that were put to new use in the 20th century. The original owner of the building, T.E. Dingwall, had his name painted on to the outside wall of the building, which was a common practice by businesses in Camden Town during the late Victorian era. The paint is still visible to this day, hence the venue's name.

The Masquerade is a mid-sized concert venue located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It is located in Kenny's Alley, the lowest level of Underground Atlanta. The venue first opened in 1989 at the historic DuPre Excelsior Mill, a century-old former manufacturing plant. It became known throughout its early history as one of the city's premier alternative music spaces, hosting styles ranging from punk rock to electronic music. Its three stages, named after the destinations of the afterlife—Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell—forge distinct musical identities. After the space was sold in the 2000s, the Masquerade relocated to its current location in Underground Atlanta, where it retained its three concert spaces and added a fourth named Altar (2024).
