Camera Chatham Bartolotta is an American politician. A Republican,she is currently the Pennsylvania state Senator for the 46th district.
Bartolotta attended Corvallis High School,an all-girls Catholic school in Los Angeles. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Saint Mary's College of California.[ citation needed ]
She serves on the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts,Pittsburgh Film Office board of trustees,the Pittsburgh Ballet board of trustees,the University of Pittsburgh Institute of Politics board of fellows,and the Pennsylvania Prison Society board. [1]
Camera Bartolotta represents the 46th Senatorial District which includes residents of Beaver,Greene and Washington counties. She was elected to her first term in 2014,defeating Democratic incumbent Tim Solobay. [2] In doing so,she became the first Republican to represent the 46th district in 38 years,and the first ever woman. [3]
In the Senate,Bartolotta serves as Chair of the Labor &Industry Committee,as well as serving as a member of the Local Government Committee,Rules &Executive Nominations Committee,Transportation Committee,and Veterans Affairs &Emergency Preparedness Committee. [1] She is also a co-chair of the Senate Gas and Oil Caucus,co-founded the bipartisan Criminal Justice Reform Caucus,and founded the Film Industry Caucus,a bicameral group working to support research and analysis of the role that Pennsylvania's film industry plays in economic development,job creation and revenue enhancement. Melissa Ann Hart is an American lawyer and politician. She was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007,representing western Pennsylvania's 4th congressional district. She was the first Republican woman to represent Pennsylvania at the federal level. Prior to her service in Congress,Hart served in the Pennsylvania Senate,where she chaired the finance committee. She was the first Republican woman elected to serve a full term in the Pennsylvania Senate in 1990 when she was 28 years old. In her first run for office,Hart defeated an incumbent in a senate district that included parts of Allegheny,Westmoreland and Armstrong counties. In the 2006 midterm elections,Hart lost her bid for re-election to Democrat Jason Altmire. She challenged Altmire again in the 2008 election,but was defeated again.
Timothy Francis Murphy is an American former politician and psychologist who served as the U.S. representative for Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district from 2003 until his resignation in 2017. The district included several suburbs south of Pittsburgh. A member of the Republican Party,he also represented the 37th Senate district in the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1996 to 2003. Murphy consistently carried the 18th district with at least 58% of the vote,including unopposed re-election bids in 2014 and 2016.
Timothy Markham Sheldon is an American farmer,businessman,and politician who served as a member of the Washington State Senate,representing the 35th District between 1997 and 2023. The district includes all of Mason County and parts of Thurston and Kitsap counties. Casey was the first senator to be elected to a third term from Pennsylvania since Arlen Specter in 1992,and the first Pennsylvania Democrat to be popularly elected to three terms in the Senate.
The 2018 Pennsylvania gubernatorial election took place on November 6,2018,to elect the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania,concurrently with the election of Pennsylvania's Class I U.S. Senate seat,as well as elections to the United States House of Representatives and various local elections. Incumbent Governor Tom Wolf won re-election to a second term by a double-digit margin,defeating Republican challenger Scott Wagner and two third-party candidates from the Green Party,Paul Glover and Libertarian Party,Ken Krawchuk. The primary elections were held on May 15. This was the only Democratic-held governorship up for election in 2018 in a state Donald Trump won in the 2016 presidential election.
