Dame Carol Propper DBE FBA is Professor of Economics at Imperial College Business School and Professor of Economics of Public Policy at Bristol University. She is also a senior research associate with the Nuffield Trust, and has served on the Economic and Social Research Council Research Grants Board. [1]

She is the current President of the Royal Economic Society and a member of French President Macron's expert commission on major economic challenges. [2] Her work focuses on economic factors in health care reform, and she has served as an economic advisor to the National Health Service (England). [3]

Honours

Propper was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2010 for her services to social science [4] and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2021 New Year Honours for services to economic policy and public health. [5] [6]

In 2014 she was elected a Fellow of the British Academy (FBA), the United Kingdom's national academy for the humanities and social sciences. [7] She was also elected as an international fellow of the National Academy of Medicine in 2018. [8]

Propper was the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research at Imperial College Business School from 2016 to 2019, co-director and Director of the Centre for Market and Public Organisation at Bristol University from 1998 to 2009, co-director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Exclusion at the London School of Economics from 1997 to 2007, and Deputy Editor of VOX EU beginning in 2016. She was a member of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) from 2005 to 2009 and was a member of the Royal Economic Society council from 2000 to 2005. [12]

Konstantin Sonin Russian economist

Konstantin Sonin is a Russian economist and mathematician. He is a professor at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, visiting professor at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia, research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), London, and an associate research fellow at the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics. In recognition for his outstanding research in the field of political economy, in December 2015, he was named the John Dewey Distinguished Service Professor of the University of Chicago.

Edward "Ted" Andrew Miguel is the Oxfam Professor of Environmental and Resource Economics in the Department of Economics at University of California, Berkeley, US. He is the founder and faculty director of the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at U.C. Berkeley.

Amy Nadya Finkelstein is a professor of economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the co-director and research associate of the Public Economics Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the co-Scientific Director of J-PAL North America. She was awarded the 2012 John Bates Clark Medal for her contributions to economics. She was elected to the National Academy of Sciences and won a MacArthur "Genius" fellowship in 2018.

Public Administration is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal which covers research, theory, and practice in public administration, public policy, public organization theory, and public management. It was established in 1923 and was ranked in the top of its field by a 1983 survey. In 2021, the journal was ranked as second in the field of public administration. One of its founders was the Liberal and later Labour statesman Richard Haldane, and the journal awards an annual prize in his honour to the most distinguished practitioner essay published in Public Administration in that year. The journal is published by Wiley (publisher) and is edited by Bruce D. McDonald, III.

Anne Catherine Case, Lady Deaton, is an American economist who is currently the Alexander Stewart 1886 Professor of Economics and Public Affairs, Emeritus, at Princeton University.

Oriana Bandiera Italian economist

Oriana Bandiera, FBA is an Italian economist and academic, specialising in development economics. She has been Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics since 2009. She is currently the Sir Anthony Atkinson Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, and co-editor of Econometrica. Her area of study primarily concerns organizations and labor markets, and their relationship with the process of economic development.

Anna Frances Vignoles is a British educationalist and economist. She is the Director of the Leverhulme Trust, taking up her position in January 2021. Previously, she was Professor of Education and fellow of Jesus College at the University of Cambridge, where her research focused on the economic value of education and issues of equity in education. She was elected as a fellow of the British Academy in 2017.

Lisa Cameron is an Australian economist currently working as a Professional Research Fellow at the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne.

Xin Meng is a Chinese economist and professor at the Research School of Economics, College of Business and Economics (CBE), Australian National University (ANU). She is also a member of the Association for Comparative Economic Studies, the American Economic Association, the Society of Labor Economics and Royal Economic Society. Her main research interests include Labour Economics, Development Economics, Applied Microeconomics and Economics of Education. Jennifer Dixon, CBE, MBChB, FRCP, FFPH, is the chief executive of the Health Foundation, a large independent charity in the United Kingdom. Her work has been recognised by several national and international bodies for her significant impact in driving national health policy making.

Jeanne Lafortune is a Canadian economist who currently works as an Full Professor in Economics and Director of Research at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She is also a researcher at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, which is a global research center that aims to reduce poverty and improve life quality of people in the Caribbean and Latin America. Lafortune holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her research interests focus on three main fields, including economic history, family and development economics.
