Cassette Kids are a Sydney-based band formed in 2007. [1] They won the Unearthed Sydney 2008 Big Day Out competition [2] and were nominated for a 2008 Unearthed J Award. [3] Their song "You Take It" was a Triple J's Ausmusic Month featured track [4] and had a video made for it which has appeared on Channel V, MTV and rage. [5] Another song, "Acrobat", was on high rotation on Triple J. [1] In October 2008 they released their debut mini album We Are. The band have toured nationally with The Presets, [6] as well as British pop singer Lily Allen, [7] The Fratellis, Ben Lee, Bluejuice, The Music [8] and New Young Pony Club. [9] In October 2009, Cassette Kids released the single Lying Around which appears on their debut album "Nothing on TV", released on 16 April 2010.

Background

Previously named Casa Del Disco, the band changed their name to Cassette Kids because every member of the band was born in the 80's and could all remember the first cassette they ever got, but couldn't remember their first CD. [10]

Little Red (band)

Little Red were an Australian pop and rock band formed in 2005 by Adrian Beltrame on guitar, keyboard and vocals, Dominic Byrne on guitar and vocals, Quang Dinh on bass guitar and vocals, Tom Hartney on harmonica, keyboard and vocals, and Taka Honda on drums. They issued two albums, Listen to Little Red and Midnight Remember. The second album peaked at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Sparkadia

Sparkadia is an Australian band, formed in Sydney in 2004. They were originally known as The Spark. The band is brainchild of Alexander Burnett and Dave Hall (drums), the band became a reality with the addition of Nick Rabone (bass) and Josephine Ayling in 2006. In 2008 Ayling was replaced by Tiffany Preece on guitars and vocals. By 2009 Sparkadia was Burnett's solo project. Sparkadia has released two studio albums, Postcards and The Great Impression.

Tones and I Australian pop singer

Toni Watson, known professionally as Tones and I, is an Australian singer, songwriter, and record producer. Her breakout single, "Dance Monkey", reached number one in over 30 countries, including Australia. In November 2019, it broke the ARIA record for the most weeks at number one on their singles chart by any artist with 16 weeks. By mid-January 2020, "Dance Monkey" had spent its 24th and final week at number one, beating Bing Crosby's all-time Australian record for his version of "White Christmas", which spent 22 weeks at the top in 1943. "Dance Monkey" was certified 17× platinum by ARIA for shipments of over 1,190,000 units by mid-2022.
