    The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) is a wing of the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, which fulfills the forensic requirements in the country. [1]

    The locations

    There are seven central forensic laboratories in India, at Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Guwahati, Bhopal and Pune.

    CFSL Hyderabad is a centre of excellence in chemical sciences, CFSL Kolkata (the oldest laboratory in India) in biological sciences, and CFSL Chandigarh in physical sciences. The CFSL New Delhi comes under the Central Bureau of Investigation, Delhi, whereas the other laboratories are under the control of the Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The laboratory in New Delhi is under the control of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which investigates cases on its behalf. Dr. Asha Srivastava is currently the Director of CFSL (CBI) New Delhi. Mr. Mithilesh Jha an alumnus of the Delhi Campus of National Forensic Sciences University (Formerly LNJN-NICFS) is working as a Senior Scientific Officer and HOD of the Serology division of CFSL (CBI), Delhi. Mr. Brijendra Badonia is the Director of CFSL Kolkata, Sh Mahesh Chandra Joshi is the Director of CFSL Hyderabad and Dr. S.K. Jain is in charge of CFSL Chandigarh.

    The Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, established in 1964 is one of the Seven Central Forensic Science Laboratories in India. Since 2002, the laboratory is under the administrative control of the Directorate of Forensic Science Services, Ministry of Home Affairs (India), Government of India.

    The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is a statutory body of the Government of India to regulate civil aviation in India.     Tirath Das Dogra is an Indian forensic pathologist and former Pro-Chancellor and vice-chancellor of SGT University, Budhera Gurgaon Haryana 2013–2017. He is a former director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi and an authority on forensic medicine. Dogra was a member of the Medical Council of India from December 2013 till its dissolution in September 2018. Dogra was President of National Medicos Organisation Delhi State from 2012 to 2017. He was a member of the TEQ-Equivalence committee and the Administration and Grievance committee of the Medical Council of India. He was a member of the Advisory committee on MOOC's program of University Grants Commission of India New Delhi. Dogra was emeritus professor of forensic medicine and forensic sciences, professor of Andragogy and educational philosophy and advisor, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at SGT University Gurgaon till January 2022. Prof. T D Dogra is a member of the Rehabilitation Council of India.

    The Regional Economic Intelligence Committee is the apex forum overseeing government agencies responsible for economic intelligence and combating economic offenses in the respective states of India.     National Forensic Science University, Delhi is the Delhi Campus of the National Forensic Sciences University and an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA), Government of India as recognised by an act of the Parliament of India. It is one of the Central Police Organization(CPO) of the country. It specializes in teaching criminology, cybersecurity, digital forensics and forensic science and is located in New Delhi, India. The institute was established by Government of India in 1972 within the Bureau of Police Research and Development following recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

    Rina Mitra is a 1983 retired IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. She is the incumbent Chief Commissioner of the West Bengal Right to Public Service Commission. She served as the Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
