Chaenostoma is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Scrophulariaceae. [1]

Its native range is Southern Tropical and Southern Africa. [1]

It is often referred to as the “Pikmin Flower” due to it’s strong resemblance to the flowers that Pikmin from Nintendo’s game series, PIKMIN, bear. Chaenostoma cordatum was actually originally bred so that it would look like Pikmin. Nintendo also would include a packet of Chaenostoma cordatum seeds along with every 100th copy of the original Pikmin game.
