The Chaldean Eparchy of Saint Thomas the Apostle in Detroit (Latin : Eparchia Sancti Thomas Apostoli Detroitensis Chaldaeorum) is a Chaldean Catholic Church eparchy of the Catholic Church in the Eastern United States. It practices the Syro-Oriental Rite in the Syriac/Arameic language. It is exempt, i.e. immediately subject to the Holy See, not part of any ecclesiastical province. Its cathedral episcopal see is Our Lady of Chaldeans Cathedral, located in Southfield, Michigan, United States.
It was created by Pope John Paul II on January 11, 1982 as the Apostolic Exarchate of United States of America for the Chaldeans, [2] covering the entire United States.
It was elevated to an eparchy, an Eastern-rite Catholic diocese, led by an eparch (bishop) on August 3, 1985. [3]
On 21 May 2002 it lost vast territory to establish the Chaldean Catholic Eparchy of Saint Peter the Apostle of San Diego.

He had been the bishop of this diocese since its inception on July 25, 2002. His bishopric currently sits at St. Peter's Chaldean Catholic Cathedral in El Cajon, California. Mar Sarhad Jammo was born in Baghdad and ordained a priest on December 19, 1964. Following 38 years as a priest, he was elevated to the episcopate by the then Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans, Mar Raphael I Bidawid. Upon his installment, his first post was to serve as bishop of the newly created eparchy, St. Peter the Apostle, which spans across nineteen states of the western United States. He retired on May 7, 2016.
