Tiffany Lane (born August 16, 1974), better known by her stage name Charli Baltimore, is an American rapper and television personality. Her stage name is taken from Geena Davis's character in the film The Long Kiss Goodnight . [1]
Charli Baltimore began her musical career when she met the Notorious B.I.G. in the summer of 1995, and they became involved in a romantic relationship. [2] Several months into their relationship, she left him a voicemail of a rap verse that she had written and he began encouraging her to pursue a career in rap music. [3]
Following the death of B.I.G., Charli continued her career in the industry, booking several modeling jobs and creating a number of hip-hop and R&B songs including "Money", with Gamble and Huff, and "Stand Up", which rose to the top ten of the Billboard Magazine "Hot Rap Singles Chart". [3] Despite her moderate success on the charts, Baltimore's first studio album Cold as Ice was never released.
In 2001, she signed to Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. Records. [3] Baltimore's first appearance as a Murder Inc. signee was on Ja Rule's "Down Ass Bitch", which peaked in the top 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 . The single landed on Ja Rule's third studio album, Pain Is Love , which sold over three million copies in America. The folling year, she appeared on the Murder Inc. compilation album, Irv Gotti Presents: The Inc. , making appearances on the songs ""We Still Don't Give a Fuck", "No One Does It Better", and the album's lead single, Down 4 U . Down 4 U was another success for Baltimore, peaking in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. She also appeared on "The Last Temptation", as well as the Christina Milian track "Spending Time", and Ashanti's "Rain on Me" (remix). In 2003, she earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Rap Solo Performance, for her single "Diary". Baltimore parted ways with Irv Gotti and Murder Inc in 2004. [4]

Jeffrey Bruce Atkins Sr., better known by his stage name Ja Rule, is an American rapper. Born and raised in New York City, Ja Rule became known as a leading figure in 2000s hip hop for his blending of gangsta rap with commercially-oriented pop sensibilities. He signed with Irv Gotti's Murder Inc Records, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings to release his debut studio album Venni Vetti Vecci (1999), which spawned his first single "Holla Holla". Ja Rule peaked the Billboard Hot 100 thrice in 2001 with his single "Always on Time" and his guest appearances on Jennifer Lopez's "I'm Real " and "Ain't It Funny". His encompassing singles, "Put It on Me", "Mesmerize", "Livin' It Up" and "Wonderful" have peaked within the top ten of the chart and spawned from commercially successful album releases.

The album was to be her official solo debut album (after the cancellation of her other album, Cold as Ice), it was also expected to be Charli's big comeback. The album spawned a total of five buzz singles but none of them managed to chart. Because of the lack of charting performance from her singles and with no promotion from her label, the album was shelved.
