Chhay Than is a Cambodian politician. [1] He belongs to the Cambodian People's Party.
Than became the head of the taxation department at the Minister of Finance of Kampuchea in 1981. He was Minister of Finance from 1986 to 1993. Later he became secretary of state,and then Minister of Planning in 1998. [2]
He was elected to represent Kandal Province in the National Assembly of Cambodia in 2003.
Marshal Lon Nol was a Cambodian politician and general who served as Prime Minister of Cambodia twice,as well as serving repeatedly as defence minister and provincial governor. As a nationalist and conservative,he led the military coup of 1970 against Prince Norodom Sihanouk,abolished the monarchy,and established the short-lived Khmer Republic. Constitutionally a semi-presidential republic,Cambodia was de facto governed under a military dictatorship. He was the commander-in-chief of the Khmer National Armed Forces during the Cambodian Civil War. After the Khmer Rouge captured Phnom Penh,Lon Nol fled to the United States,first to Hawaii and Michigan and then to California,where he remained until his death in 1985.
Norodom Sihanouk was a Cambodian statesman,Sangkum and FUNCINPEC politician,film director,and composer who led Cambodia in various capacities throughout his long career,most often as both King and Prime Minister of Cambodia. In Cambodia,he is known as Samdech Euv. During his lifetime,Cambodia was under various regimes,from French colonial rule,an independent kingdom (1953–1970),a republic (1970–75),the Khmer Rouge regime (1975–79),another communist regime (1979–93),to finally another kingdom.

The Cambodian–Vietnamese War,known in Vietnam as the Counter-offensive on the Southwestern border,and by Cambodian nationalists as the Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia,was an armed conflict between Democratic Kampuchea,controlled by the Khmer Rouge,and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The war began with repeated attacks by the Liberation Army of Kampuchea on the southwestern border of Vietnam,particularly the Ba Chuc massacre which resulted in the deaths of over 3,000 Vietnamese civilians. On 25 December 1978,Vietnam launched a full-scale invasion of Kampuchea,and subsequently occupied the country and removed the government of the Communist Party of Kampuchea from power.

Long Boret was a Cambodian politician who served as the last prime minister of the Khmer Republic from 26 December 1973,to 17 April 1975. The United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) was a United Nations peacekeeping operation in Cambodia in 1992–93 formed following the 1991 Paris Peace Accords. This was the first occasion in which the UN directly assumed responsibility for the administration of an outright independent state,rather than simply monitoring or supervising the area. In 1969 he received the honorary title Samdech Konhcharathipadei by Prince Norodom Sihanouk.

Aun Pornmoniroth is a Cambodian politician and economist,currently serving as the Minister of Economy and Finance and Deputy Prime Minister. He was the Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister from 1998 to 2013. Before his appointment as minister,he worked in the Ministry of Economy and Finance as Secretary of State. He is also a Member of Parliament (MP) for Kandal Province,first elected in 2018.
Singapore–Vietnam relations refer to the bilateral relations between the Republic of Singapore and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Singapore and Vietnam started the trade relations in the 19th century. Since the anti-communist policy of Singapore,Singapore supported South Vietnam before the unification of Vietnam. Singapore also started formal diplomatic relations with North Vietnam on August 1,1973. After the unification of Vietnam,Singapore started to improve its relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The relations was worsened during the Cambodian–Vietnamese War,but it has now revived after the People's Army of Vietnam withdrawal from Cambodia.
