History

In 2015, it was part of a deal to produce several feature films, together with Qi Tai Culture Development Group and Huhu Studios, contributing around 55% of the budget. [2]

In October 2019, it was reported that China Film Animation and Huhu Studios had jointly produced the animated New Zealand film Mosley , making the film the first official New ZealandChina co-production. [3] [4]

Most of the studio's films are distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Releasing under their Columbia Pictures label, while all direct-to-video releases are released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Mosley is a 2019 animated fantasy adventure drama film produced by Huhu Studios. It was written and directed by Kirby Atkins, co-directed by Jun Huang, and co-written by Ge Jing. The film stars Atkins and his daughter Leah as Mosley and Rue respectively, with Rhys Darby, Lucy Lawless, Temuera Morrison, and John Rhys-Davies in supporting roles. The film was released in New Zealand on 10 October 2019 by Rialto Distribution. It is the first official New Zealand–Chinese co-production.

Its first programs from the 1990s and early 2000s used the live-action television logo, and were produced by DreamWorks Television, before DWATV and its parent company were spun off into an independent company in 2004 and later purchased by NBCUniversal in 2016.
