The Grey's Anatomy Original Soundtrack is the soundtrack album series for the medical drama television series Grey's Anatomy, with four volumes released in the series. The albums with the exception of Volume 4 were released by Hollywood Records, while Volume 4 was released by Chop Shop Records and Atlantic Records. In addition, a box set featuring the first 3 volumes was released on the same day as the third volume.

Sleeping at Last is a musical project led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ryan O'Neal. The project initially began in Wheaton, Illinois as a three-piece band with Ryan O'Neal as the lead singer and guitarist, his brother Chad O'Neal as the drummer, and Dan Perdue as the bassist. "It Will Rain" is a song by American singer and songwriter Bruno Mars. It was released on September 27, 2011 by Atlantic Records as the lead single from the soundtrack of the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Mars composed the song with his production team the Smeezingtons, and it was partially written during the Hooligans in Wondaland Tour in the United States, being finished after the singer watched an early version of the movie which inspired him. The soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 was a much expected release and Mars's song was chosen as the lead single by the album's executive producer, Alexandra Patsavas, to promote it. Musically, "It Will Rain" is a pop and pop-soul ballad. Its lyrics tell the agony and torment of a heartbreak and its various stages.

It is the fourth soundtrack in the saga's chronology, and was released on November 8, 2011. Mackintosh Braun is a Portland, Oregon-based electropop group signed to Island Records / Chop Shop Records, a division of the Universal Music Group. The duo is composed of Ian Mackintosh and Ben Braun, who share song-writing and production duties. When performing live the outfit involve other musicians to fill out their sound, including at one point Ben's father Michael Braun, a long-time drummer for Hall & Oates who has also played on a few of the group's recordings.
