Christopher Matthew Simmons (born 8 January 1975 in Gravesend, Kent) is an English television and stage actor. He is best known for his roles as DC Mickey Webb in The Bill , Mark Garland in EastEnders and Stuart Summer in Hollyoaks .
Simmons grew up on Singlewell Road in Gravesend and attended Saint Georges CofE Secondary School. [1] Prior to taking up acting, he had several jobs including working as a diver on the River Thames with his Dad. [2]
Simmons' first television appearance was on the 1998 ITV series Desperately Seeking Stardom, in which a group of unemployed actors went to Hollywood to try to find acting roles. [3] [4]
Simmons found fame as DC Mickey Webb in The Bill from 2000 to 2003 (having previously appeared playing different roles in 1998 and 1999). He made guest appearances over the interim including the live episode in 2003 before returning as a regular in 2005 until the series ended in 2010. He also guest starred in Casualty [5] and Doctors . [6]
In October 2011 he appeared in EastEnders as Mark Garland, a love interest for Kat Moon, for a few episodes. [7] He has since made a guest appearance in the Tracy Beaker spin-off CBBC show, 'The Dumping Ground': In episode 8 of series 1 (1x08), entitled 'Dreamland' he played the father to Rick Barber, Gerry.
Simmons was a patron for the CPC Kent charity until it closed in 2014. [8] He ran the London Marathon in 2009, [9] and again in 2014. [10] In 2013 he took part in the Bupa Great Birmingham Run. [11]
In 2015, he was part of a cast of The Wizard of Oz pantomime at Swallows Leisure Centre, in Sittingbourne. [12]
He also currently works on a youth initiative in his hometown of Gravesend. [1]
In 2019 he was cast as Stuart Sumner in Hollyoaks . [13]
In 2020, he was interviewed alongside his The Bill co-star Sally Rogers for a three-part The Bill Podcast to promote Chris starring in Sally's play The Still Room.
He is also doing safety sketches for the operatives working on the HS2 project.

Hollyoaks is a British soap opera which originally began airing on Channel 4 on 23 October 1995. It was created by Phil Redmond, who had previously conceived the soap opera Brookside. From 2005 to 2023, episodes have aired on sister channel E4 a day prior to their broadcast on Channel 4. In 2023, Hollyoaks was removed from Channel 4's early evening schedule, but remains on E4 and Channel 4's on demand service with episodes now uploaded to YouTube. The first on- screen death was Natasha Andersen who was played by Shebah Ronay At its inception, the soap was targeted towards an adolescent and young adult audience but it has since broadened its appeal to all age groups. Hollyoaks has covered various taboo subjects rarely seen on British television, for which it has received numerous awards. It has won the award for Best British Soap twice, in 2014 and 2019; its first win broke the 15-year tie between rival soap operas EastEnders and Coronation Street. Beginning with a cast of 15 characters, it now has upwards of 50 regular cast members. The longest-serving actor is Nick Pickard, who has portrayed Tony Hutchinson since the first episode.

Rawle returned to Hollyoaks in 2016, 2020 and 2022. He is also known for his role as Amos Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005).
James William Forbes Redmond is an English actor, presenter, stand-up comedian and model, known for his roles as Abs Denham in Casualty and Rory Finnigan in Hollyoaks.
Christopher Diamantopoulos is a Canadian actor. He played Russ Hanneman in the HBO series Silicon Valley and starred in the film The Three Stooges, and the TV series Good Girls Revolt. He voiced Mickey Mouse in the eponymous television series, The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse and the short film Once Upon a Studio; for the former, he received two Emmy Award nominations.
Ben Richards is a British stage and television actor and dancer. Richards studied dance from an early age and later took part in theatre. He gained supporting roles in London's West End and gradually filled the role of the lead. After small roles in two films, Richards began his television career with guest roles in various British serials. In 2004, he joined the regular cast of the ITV drama Footballers' Wives and after the series ended he resumed theatre work. Richards went on to secure roles in Holby City and The Bill. While working on the latter, Richards said that he would always pursue his career in theatre. After leaving the series he returned to theatre work. In 2015, he joined the cast of the soap opera Hollyoaks and finished filming the following year. He then returned to stage roles in the West End.

"Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special" is a three-and-a-half-hour prime-time special that aired on February 15, 2015, on NBC, celebrating Saturday Night Live's 40th year on the air, having premiered on October 11, 1975, under the original title NBC's Saturday Night. It is produced by Broadway Video. This special generated 23.1 million viewers, becoming NBC's most-watched prime-time, non-sports, entertainment telecast since the Friends series finale in 2004. It is the third such anniversary special to be broadcast, with celebratory episodes also held during the 15th and 25th seasons.
