Christine Sotto Jacob-Sandejas (born April 30, 1967) known professionally as Christine Jacob, is a Filipina swimmer, actress, TV host, and newscaster.
She was born in Manila, Philippines to a German American father George Jacob and a former TV host Rosemarie (née Sotto), and grew up in the United States in her elementary years.
Her parents are the ones behind her swimming talent. She and her family returned to the Philippines in 1980s. She joined Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 1983 where she won a gold medal. [2] Jacobs then competed in the swimming competition in the 1984 Summer Olympics. [3] After joining athletics, she was requested by her aunt to co-host in Eat Bulaga! in 1990 (then airing on ABS-CBN) as her aunt knew that Christine's mother was also a TV host. She became a news caster for PTV while hosting Eat Bulaga!, where she had a short-lived relationship with the main host Mr. Vic Sotto (no blood relationship to Christine's mother). After her contract with APT Entertainment and TAPE Inc. (producer of Eat Bulaga!) expired, Christine hosted its rival, Magandang Tanghali Bayan , in ABS-CBN (Eat Bulaga is already airing in GMA Network). She stopped hosting in showbiz in 2001 when she got pregnant with her first child with husband, Francisco "Paco" Sandejas, the brother of Manu Sandejas (Agot Isidro's husband). After 4 years, GMA Network gave her her very own TV show Mobile Kusina as GMA knew that she came from the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga, which GMA airs. This show ended in early 2007.

MTB, fully spelled as Magandang Tanghali Bayan and Masayang Tanghali Bayan, and later known as MTB Ang Saya Saya, is a Philippine noontime variety show broadcast by ABS-CBN. The ceremony was hosted by Aga Muhlach, Kris Aquino and Toni Gonzaga and directed by Al Quinn.
The 5th PMPC Star Awards for Television were held at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila on October 26, 1991, and broadcast on IBC Channel 13. The awards night was hosted by Vilma Santos, Eric Quizon, Vic Sotto, Mari Kaimo and to be directed by Al Quinn. The theme of the awards night is Magkatapat pero Magkaibigan as it marks the 25th anniversary of PMPC.

In the Philippines, variety television shows have become mainstays of the noontime slot for network programming since 1958. The first Philippines noontime variety television shows were influenced by the popularity of bodabil (vaudeville) in the first half of the 20th century. Since then, the format has evolved with the changing times, with elements of reality television also incorporated as well since the 2000s. Majority of the noontime variety shows that aired on television were produced independently by blocktimers that pay a certain amount of time to television networks to air their program. Some TV networks though have managed to solely produce these kind of programs, with moderate success in terms of ratings and advertising revenues.
