Christine Mary Williams OBE is Professor emeritus of Human Nutrition and was Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) at the University of Reading. [1]

Williams has a BSc in Nutrition (University of London, 1973) and a PhD from Guy's Hospital Medical School (1978). From 1978 to 1995 she worked at the University of Surrey, as a post-doctoral researcher, then Lecturer, then Reader in Human Nutrition. [2] She moved to Reading in 1995 as Hugh Sinclair Professor of Nutrition, and has been Head of the School of Food Biosciences (2003–2006), Dean of Life Sciences (2006–2008), and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise) before taking up her current position of Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) in 2008. [1] She is also Director of Food, Agriculture and Health in the School of Agricultural Policy and Development, and a member of the University's Institute for Cardiovsascular and Metabolic Research (ICMR), where she is involved in research groups in "Diet composition and cardiovascular disease phenotype research", and "Obesity, insulin and cell signalling research". [3]

She was awarded an OBE "For services to Higher Education and to Nutrition Science" in the 2013 Birthday Honours. [1] [4]

In July 2022 Williams was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Science by the University of Reading after more than 25 years of service to the university. [5]

Tony Ryan (scientist)

Professor Anthony John Ryan is an English polymer chemist and sustainability leader at the University of Sheffield. He was Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the university's Faculty of Science from 2008 until 2016, and is currently Director of the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures. He delivered the 2002 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures and has appeared on programmes including the BBC Radio 4 comedy and popular science series The Infinite Monkey Cage. He has collaborated on a range of arts and sciences projects with Professor Helen Storey from the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.

Patrick Webb (nutritionist) British nutritionist

Patrick Webb is the Alexander McFarlane Professor of Nutrition at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. He was Dean for Academic Affairs from 2005 to 2014.

Sardara Singh Johl

Sardara Singh Johl is an Indian agriculture economist, writer, politician and the chancellor of the Central University of Punjab. A former National Professor of Agricultural Economics of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, he served as the vice chancellor of the Punjabi University and Punjab Agricultural University during different tenures and chaired the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices set up by the Government of India. He is a former director of the Central Board of Governors of the Reserve Bank of India and a former consultant to international bodies such as Food and Agriculture Organization, World Bank and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 2004, for his contributions to Agriculture and agriculture education.

Sarah Elizabeth Smith was a British-born Australian mycologist specialising in mycorrhiza. The Australian Academy of Science described her as "a world authority on the mycorrhizal symbiosis between plants and fungi". She was an adjunct and emeritus professor at the University of Adelaide, in the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine.

Amir Kassam, FRSB, OBE, is visiting professor in the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development at the University of Reading, and a member of the global forum of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. He was made OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2005 for services to tropical agriculture and rural development. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Biology.

It was announced on 11 May 2021 that she was the winner of the 2021 World Food Prize, the first woman of Asian ancestry to be awarded the prize.
