Christopher J. Brown is an American Republican Party politician who served in the New Jersey General Assembly from January 2012 to December 2015,representing the 8th Legislative District.
Brown received a B.A. degree in political science from The College of New Jersey. [1] He is the founder and chief executive officer of Castle Realty Management,which currently has more than 130 employees and independent contractors in several New Jersey offices,including Guardian Settlement Agents and Guardian Property and Casualty in Marlton. [2]
Brown served as deputy mayor of Evesham Township from 2007 to 2008. In 2008,he was elected to the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders as a Democrat,becoming one of the first Democrats to hold the position since 1983. In 2010,he switched parties and became a Republican. He announced he would not seek re-election for freeholder in 2011. [3]
On August 11,2011,after the resignation of Patrick Delany from the General Assembly seat in the 8th district,Burlington County Republicans selected former Mount Laurel Township mayor Gerry Nardello to serve the remainder of Delany's term and also selected Brown to be the Republican candidate in the 2011 general election. [4] Brown and his running mate Scott Rudder defeated the Democratic candidates,Anita Lovely and Pamela Finnerty. He was sworn in on January 10,2012. [5] In the 2013 election,he won reelection alongside Republican Maria Rodriguez-Gregg. [6] He announced his retirement from the Assembly prior to the 2015 elections,citing frustration for being in the minority party in the Legislature and his desire to spend more time with his family. Evesham Township is a township in Burlington County,in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is a suburb of Philadelphia,the nation's sixth-most populous city. As of the 2020 United States census,the township's population was 46,826,an increase of 1,288 (+2.8%) from the 2010 census count of 45,538,which in turn reflected an increase of 3,263 (+7.7%) from the 42,275 counted in the 2000 census. Colloquially,the area is referred to as Marlton,the name of a community within the township.

The 2017 New Jersey General Assembly elections were held on November 7,2017,to elect members to all 80 seats of the New Jersey General Assembly. Prior to the elections,Democrats held a 52–28 majority in the lower house. Overall,the Democrats increased their majority by 2 to a super-majority at 54–26,due to holding all their seats as well as picking up open seats in District 2 and District 16. This tied Democrats for their largest majority since 1979.
The 1981 New Jersey State Senate elections were held on November 3. The New Jersey legislature reapportioned its state legislative districts in advance of the 1981 election.
