The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a United States-based 501(c)(3) non-profit international environmental advocacy group,with its headquarters in New York City and offices in Washington D.C.,San Francisco,Los Angeles,Chicago,Bozeman,India,and Beijing. The group was founded in 1970 in opposition to a hydro-electric power power plant in New York.
The Three Mile Island accident was a partial nuclear meltdown of the Unit 2 reactor (TMI-2) of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station on the Susquehanna River in Londonderry Township,near the capital city of Harrisburg,Pennsylvania. The reactor accident began at 4:00 a.m. on March 28,1979,and released radioactive gases and radioactive iodine into the environment. It is the worst accident in U.S. commercial nuclear power plant history. On the seven-point logarithmic International Nuclear Event Scale,the TMI-2 reactor accident is rated Level 5,an "Accident with Wider Consequences".

The Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant,more commonly known as Seabrook Station,is a nuclear power plant located in Seabrook,New Hampshire,United States,approximately 40 miles (64 km) north of Boston and 10 miles (16 km) south of Portsmouth. It has operated since 1990. With its 1,244-megawatt electrical output,Seabrook Unit 1 is the largest individual electrical generating unit on the New England power grid. It is the second largest nuclear plant in New England after the two-unit Millstone Nuclear Power Plant in Connecticut.
The Edwin Irby Hatch Nuclear Power Plant is near Baxley,Georgia,in the southeastern United States,on a 2,244-acre (9 km²) site. It has two General Electric boiling water reactors with a total capacity of 1,848 megawatts. Previously,the reactors had a combined capacity listing of 1,759 MW. Unit 1 went online in 1974 and was followed by Unit 2 in 1978. The plant was named for Edwin I. Hatch,president of Georgia Power from 1963 to 1975,and chairman from 1975 to 1978.

He is the author of Fragile Structures:A Story of Oil Refineries,National Security and the Coast of Maine and has written many articles. He served on various advisory panels and expert groups relating to nuclear power. He participated in a 1968 Ralph Nader-sponsored study of the Federal Trade Commission. Bradford has a law degree from Yale Law School.
Gregory B. Jaczko is a physicist who was chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) from 2005 to 2012. While at the NRC,he voted against the opening of new nuclear plants;an inspector general report found that he sought unilaterally and improperly to block the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository project from advancing. After leaving the NRC,Jaczko called for a global ban on nuclear power.

He was appointed to his previous role as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Office of Nuclear Energy in September,2009. She was initially nominated for the commission by President Donald Trump in May 2017 and was renominated by President Joe Biden in May 2022 after her original term expired on June 30,2021. She was formerly a senior policy advisor for Chairman John Barrasso (R-WY) on the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
James Danly is an American attorney who was a member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He was nominated by President Donald Trump in 2019 and took office on March 30,2020. He formerly served as the agency's general counsel. On November 5,2020,he was named chairman of FERC. After serving for only 77 days,Danly was demoted on January 21,2021,when President Biden named Richard Glick Chairman. He stepped down at the end of the 2023-2024 congressional session when his term expired.
