Clinton Solomon (born October 21, 1983) is an American football wide receiver for the Texas Revolution of Champions Indoor Football (CIF). He played college football at the University of Iowa. He is currently the head coach of the ICT Regulators of the Arena Football League.

College career

Solomon signed to play football for the Iowa Hawkeyes on February 1, 2002. [1] After playing as a freshman, Solomon left Iowa due to his poor grades, and attended Iowa Central Community College during the 2003 school year, where he played for the Tritons. [2] After the school year, Solomon returned to the Hawkeyes. [3] Solomon returned to Iowa with a terrific junior season, earning 2nd Team All-Big Ten Conference honors. [4]

Professional career

NFL

After going undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, Solomon signed as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams. [5] He was released on September 1, 2006. [6] Solomon signed with the Tennessee Titans during the 2007 offseason, but was waived on July 25, 2007. [7] Solomon signed with the Chicago Bears later in September, 2007. [8]

Wichita Wild

After spending the entire 2008 season on the practice squad of the Chicago Rush, Solomon signed with the Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL). [9] Solomon was named 1st Team All-IFL, finishing fourth in both receiving yards (1,008) and receiving touchdowns (22) on the year. [10] Solomon would once again be a 1st Team All-IFL selection in 2010, and a 2nd Team selection in 2011. [11]

Sioux Falls Storm

Solomon moved on to the Sioux Falls Storm in 2012, helping the Storm win their second IFL Championship. [12] Solomon returned to the Storm in 2013, helping them win their 3rd consecutive title. [13]

Texas Revolution

Solomon joined the Texas Revolution for the 2014 season. [14] [15]

San Antonio Talons

Solomon joined the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League (AFL), to finish the 2014 season. [16]

Las Vegas Outlaws

Solomon was assigned to the Las Vegas Outlaws in 2015. He was placed on reassigned on July 28, 2015. On July 30, 2015, he was assigned back with the Outlaws.

Return to Texas

In February, 2016, Solomon returned to the Texas Revolution. On February 8, 2017, Solomon re-signed with the Revolution.

Christopher Dixon II is a former professional indoor football quarterback who currently serves as the head coach for Cactus Shadows High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dixon attended Contra Costa College for two years before attending Humboldt State University, where he was an all-conference player.

Playing with nine teams in two conferences spread across the United States, the league's regular season kicked off on February 15, 2013, when the Sioux Falls Storm beat the Green Bay Blizzard 64–41. The season ended on June 15, 2013, with the visiting Sioux Falls Storm defeating the Texas Revolution 52-38.

One of nine teams in the IFL for the 2014 season, the Texas Revolution competed in the United Conference for the second consecutive year. The team played their home games at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. Chris Williams returned to the IFL as the Texas Revolution's director of football operations and head coach for 2014. This was the second season in which four teams per conference advanced to the Champions Bowl playoffs, with the top seed in each conference hosting their conference's fourth seed, and second seeds hosting third seeds in the first round.

The 2021 Indoor Football League season was the thirteenth season of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The league played the season with twelve teams, down from thirteen the previous season, by adding one expansion team, one team from the National Arena League, one team from the American Arena League, and four teams going on hiatus. In addition, three existing teams made their IFL on-field debut after the 2020 season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
