Cocaine 80's was an American hip hop collective founded in 2011, by record producer No I.D. With James Fauntleroy serving as lead singer on each song, the group has collectively released four full-length projects: The Pursuit EP (2011), Ghost Lady EP (2011), Express OG EP (2012) and The Flower of Life (2013). History

On June 22, 2011, an extended play (EP) titled Cocaine 80s: The Pursuit, surfaced online. [4] The Pursuit EP features vocals from Steve Wyreman, Rob Kinelski, Kevin Randolph, James Fauntleroy, Makeba Riddick and more. [5] [6] On October 21, 2011, another EP was released, titled Cocaine 80s: Ghost Lady. [7] [8] In December 2011, Chicago-bred rapper Common released his ninth album, The Dreamer/The Believer . The album was produced entirely by No I.D. and features additional vocal from Makeba Riddick and James Fauntleroy, on several tracks. In October 2012, Jhené Aiko revealed to The Singers Room that she is recording a project with No I.D. and the rest of Cocaine 80s and that they would also be featured on her upcoming Def Jam debut, Souled Out : "Me and the Cocaine 80s is made up of musicians, singers and producers. I told them I wanted to be a part of the Cocaine 80s. I wanted to be the female voice of the group. They will be featured on 'Souled Out'. Yes, we are definitely working on a mixtape or album together. That is definitely in the works." [9] In June 2014, "To Love & Die", the first single from Aiko's debut album was released, which credits Cocaine 80s as the featured performers.

The song was written by Aiko, alongside Mac Robinson, Brian Warfield and James Fauntleroy and interpolates 50 Cent's 2003 song "Many Men ". "To Love & Die" features Cocaine 80s, with fellow members James Fauntleroy providing vocals and No I.D. handling the production.

Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo is an American R&B singer-songwriter. Aiko embarked on her musical career in 2002, as a backing vocalist and music video performer for R&B group B2K. To promote and cultivate her own following, she was marketed by their record label, The Ultimate Group as a "cousin" of group member Lil' Fizz, despite them not being related. Her debut album, slated for a 2003 release through Epic Records, was shelved due to Aiko instead further pursuing her education.

Sailing Soul(s) is the debut mixtape by American singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko; it was released on March 16, 2011, her 23rd birthday, & re-released for streaming platforms on March 12, 2021. Aiko began working on the mixtape after she gave birth to her daughter. Aiko wrote all the mixtape's songs except "July," which was written by Micah Powell. Most songs on the mixtape were produced by Fisticuffs, except “July” and “You vs Them” which were produced by Bei Maejor, “Real Now” which was produced by Roosevelt, “Do Better” which was produced by J. Lbs and “Growing Apart” which was produced by Tae Beast. The mixtape featured several guest vocalists, including Miguel, Drake, Gucci Mane, and Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar as well as others.

Sail Out is the debut extended play (EP) by American recording artist Jhené Aiko, released on November 12, 2013 through Def Jam Recordings. It was Aiko's first release under the label after leaving her contract with Sony Music in 2003. After leaving Sony Music, Aiko released her first mixtape Sailing Soul(s) (2011), independently; the mixtape featured appearances from well-known artists and was met with generally positive reviews and was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. .
