Comal Independent School District is a public school district based in New Braunfels, Texas (USA). [1]

Contents

The district covers 589 square miles (1,530 km2) in five central Texas counties - Comal, Bexar, Hays, Kendall, and Guadalupe. Incorporated communities in the district include Bulverde, Garden Ridge, and portions of New Braunfels and Schertz. The unincorporated communities of Canyon Lake, Fischer, Sattler, Spring Branch, and Timberwood Park also lie within the district.

In 2009, the school district was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency. [2]

The first school in what would become the district is the Church Hill School.

Canyon High School is a public high school located in New Braunfels, Texas, United States and classified as a 5A high school by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). It is part of Comal ISD and is one of the five high schools in the entire district. Canyon High School is zoned for students who live primarily in the southeastern Comal County area, including portions of New Braunfels as well as Garden Ridge, and portions of Schertz. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. It is fed by Church Hill Middle School and Canyon Middle school.
