Connie Garner (born 22 May 1979) is a fitness competitor and NABBA Miss World Fitness. She won the Miss World Fitness title in 2000. [1] [2] [3]

Biography

Garner was born descendent of a Finnish Mother born and bred in Finland and a Father who is Italian French and she was raised in Canberra, Australia. She began jazz ballet dancing at 7 years old. She played water polo, netball, basketball, hockey and soccer throughout high school. She was introduced to the gym by her physical education teacher. Garner became a personal trainer and fitness instructor herself in 1993. [4]

Her first competition was in sport aerobics in 1997, in which she won the state title. Garner then went on to compete in fitness competitions in the National Amateur Bodybuilders Association (NABBA)/World Fitness Federation (WFF) and Ms. Fitness federations. During her five years of competing, she won multiple State and Australian Miss Fitness titles, with her best win being Miss World Fitness in 2000. [1] A World Fitness Championship Title.

Fitness success followed with media coverage. Garner appeared on the cover of For Him Magazine in 2002. [5] She also appeared in popular magazines such as Cosmopolitan , [6] Ms. Fitness Magazine, [7] Australian Ironman, [3] [8] [9] [10] Australian MuscleMag, [4] Women in Sport, [11] and Oxygen Magazine. [12] Her fitness career was followed by newspapers and local news. [1] [13]

Garner retired from fitness competitions in 2001 to focus on education, obtaining two degrees, a Masters and Bachelors of Information Systems, both from the University of Canberra, Australia.

Garner is also a working actress and model. She appears in the 2018 movie Australia Day, she also appeared in the 2014 movie San Andreas, and in the TV series' Hoges and Mako Mermaids Garner also stars in the following TV Commercials Youi 2018, Star Casino 2018, UBet, Cenovis Vitamins, Devine Homes, Vikings Heath and Fitness Centre, Body Connection. She works in cyber security. [14] Garner authored a chapter on success in the book Real Talk Real Women, [15] published in 2014.

Garner's heritage is Finnish her family name is Spännäri from Kouvola Finland.

Melissa Hauschildt

Melissa Hauschildt is an Australian professional triathlete and former middle-distance runner. She is a 3-time World Champion, winning Gold at the 2011 and 2013 Ironman 70.3 World Championship as well as the 2013 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships. She also won Silver at the 2016 Ironman 70.3 World Championships. In April 2018, Hauschildt set a new Ironman brand record of 8:31:05, at the Ironman North American Championships, breaking the previous record of 8:33:56 set by Chrissie Wellington in 2011.

Dina Al-Sabah is a professional figure competitor from Kuwait. She is the only female Arab athlete to achieve pro card status as of 2006, as well as the first female Arab athlete to ever stand on the Olympia stage.

Krisztina Sereny is a professional fitness competitor from Budapest, Hungary, but she lives in Spain from 2007 Krisztina has appeared in various fitness magazines such as Robert Kennedy's Oxygen magazine. Vanda Hădărean Romanian gymnast

Vanda Maria Hădărean is a retired Romanian artistic gymnast who competed in international events between 1990 and 1993. She is an Olympic silver medalist and a world bronze medalist with the team and a European all around bronze medalist. She is also a successful fitness model and she has won various world class fitness competitions. She is a four-time Ms. Fitness World and a four-time Ms. Fitness Canada (2006–2009). She also coaches, trains, provides consultation services to gymnasts and fitness models under the brand name “Inspired by Vanda”. Annabel Luxford Australian triathlete

Annabel Luxford is an Australian triathlete. In International Triathlon Union (ITU) competition she is the 2005 ITU Triathlon World Cup series champion and the silver medalist at the 2005 ITU Triathlon World Championships. In 2004, she was the ITU under-23 World Champion and also finished second in the ITU Triathlon World Cup standings. In 2013, after changing to non-drafing long course racing, she finished third at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

Bodybuilding in Australia traces its early history to the 1940s. In 1947 the first large scale national bodybuilding contest was held, and since then bodybuilding has continued to grow within Australia. It has diversified from originally being largely male-dominated to having equal, or in some instances more, women competitors. Australia has both produced high performing bodybuilders, such as Lee Priest, and also hosted some historically significant events in the field, such as the IFBB Mr Olympia in 1980 where Arnold Schwarzenegger was the winner.
