The Ottawa Redblacks are a professional Canadian football team based in Ottawa, Ontario. The team plays in the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Chris Williams is an American professional free agent Canadian football wide receiver of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at New Mexico State. Anthony Barrette is a former Canadian football offensive lineman who played in the Canadian Football League (CFL). In the CFL's Amateur Scouting Bureau final rankings, he was ranked as the 13th best player for players eligible in the 2011 CFL Draft, and eighth by players in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS). He was drafted 16th overall by the Montreal Alouettes in the 2011 Draft and signed a contract with the team on May 26, 2011. He spent parts of three seasons with the Alouettes before signing with the Ottawa Redblacks on January 2, 2014. He played CIS football with the Concordia Stingers. Barrette retired in May 2014.
The 2014 Ottawa Redblacks season was the first season for the team in the Canadian Football League. The Redblacks are the third CFL franchise to play in the city of Ottawa, and the first since the suspension of the Renegades in 2006. The Redblacks finished the season in fourth place in the East Division with a 2–16 record and were eliminated from playoff contention after a week 16 loss to the BC Lions.
José Carlos Maltos Díaz is a Mexican professional gridiron football placekicker for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Redblacks selected him second overall in the 2019 CFL–LFA Draft. He was originally signed by the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL) in 2013, but was released following training camp. He played college football for UANL.
